I just recently traded off an '02 Duramax that had 300,000 miles on it....tranny and engine were both still going strong, and had never been apart....This combo, with proper maintainance should last for 400,000+ miles....I've seen a couple with over 500,000 miles still running.....hope this helps....

I have added alot of detent, and have gears from Allied Precision.....have had no problems with any other positions, just third gear....I do have a bearing support, and have a solid countershaft...

Well said Chad.....it is a done and over with subject.....Ernie and Dan are probably some of the most respectful pullers out there, and people don't need to be running them down on here over stuff they obviously know nothing about......

Does anyone know of a formula for figuring out the final gear ratio? I have all information, such as all trans gear counts, constant mesh, ring & pinion, bull gear & bull pinion, and tire circumference.....is there a somewhat simple formula for figuring the final ratio? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

You can put the RD engine in a 460 also, but like you said, you will have to run a smaller diameter clutch to accomodate the smaller bellhousing.....we did one of these before, and you can make 4500# with a 560 chassis if you want....just more chopping.....If you want to get by cheap, just turn the original manifold upside down, and either relocate the mount ears, or make an adapter plate.

At least they are being honest up front with the message....would you rather that they accepted work and promised to get it done, and didn't get it done for you? If they are backed up on work and need to get caught up, let them get caught up.....they do much more than just performance work, and also have the farming to keep up with, and there are only 2 guys in the shop.....don't come

Depending on what brand of aluminum rim you have, be careful as to not use too much air pressure to seat the bead also....if it is a one-piece style rim, dont go over 25 psi, or you will fold the rim over.....trust me, i've had it happen.....definetely do NOT use ether on a aluminum rim, you will be buying new rims.....once you get out of the hospital, that is......If you can by with the ext

There's already a class for that....light pro stock.....leave the superfarm class as it is...its doing just fine, and as far as there being too many, there will certainly be some that will jump up to limited prostock if the class sticks around......you can't decube a class that has such a large number of tractors already.....itd be different if the class was just getting established....
