When Badger State first adopted the llss rules , engine , clutch and rear all had to match. So an ih 686 with a 312 couldn't put a 460 or 560 rear end to save weight. So this is partly why the weight is 6500 . So to all that think 6000 is easy to get to , it's not. And with are tracks some nights biting hard i like the extra . If 6000 works for ky and others great , it might not for oth

Not taking anything away, why did ky diesels need a 4.1 charger and Bob at 3.6 . If most of us 410 intercooler can complete with SCWTP 360 aklys with a 3 by 4 . Why more charger . I know its the weight issue , its the equalizer

I realize that the weight is an issue. But will you be able to find light ag tires in five years or will they not be available any more. But for national rules, everyone that has rules all rules need to be looked at . And not everyone will like them.

Now the diesels that run intercooler is weight, your adding more due to the cooler, pumps, ice . So that add about 75-100#. So the weight needs to be around 6250 . Not 6000 if you want more diesels in the class

A 3 in and 4 out is a big enough charger for this class. Whether you run the smooth or map grooves should be talked about more. But the diesels need the intercooler at 410 to keep up with the aklys.

By the way Lewis, most of Wisconsin's llss class all run 410 with intercooler with 3/4 smooth bore charger

Something I think is needed to entice more diesels, i don't like the 470 rule, but it's there in most of the other clubs rules. I don't what to see a 10 to 1 akly to diesels. Diesels needs intercooler to even compete with them , which adds weight. So then there's the weight ?

First I would like to know if PPL, or NTPA or any other national group would pick this class up and how many pulls would there be?

As in some my post earlier I was against letting components in this class. With all the grinded being done, I was interested I knowing why this class wanted 6000 or less for weight. Because some don't like more that 6000. I pull with a AG rear and at 6250 to 6500 . It only a question asked

I agree that many have ground alot out to make weight. Then the question is why is this class so hell bent on pulling at 6000 and under?

There has been so much discussion about these rules. This club has this and club don't allow this, but will there ever be a set of rules that everyone will agree to? Maybe ? . At least we as tractor pullers have place to these smaller tractors sometimes on a big stage. Check with your local clubs with what rules fit and build and have fun. Don't expect clubs to change rules just because

In are area there are a lot of 466 classes, but that rule all ready exists . If you want a top running tractor ,you will still spend more than you expect

Component needs to stay out of this class, and 410 cubic inch should be as big as it goes. With one turbo size ,3 in and 4 out

Also John, only 2 diesels in finals and maybe 6 out of 20 for the show . And how many diesels in SCWTP maybe 3 out of 10 . So why isn't there more diesel tractor is the point here?

John in your finals they got 8 out of 10. At your pull we had no idea who was pulling at what weight, this was guy at that , that guy was this. One weight, and if you can't pull at that weight , then your tractor needs a diet

Maybe in few years we may need to consider the akly tractors, most of are class feels that the rules need tweaking, but people need it to be fair for everyone

I have pulled with SCWTP and there tractors run really good, but won't give on the weight like you do for tire size. We get to have sloted covers for our chargers. But they only have 2or3 diesels the rest are alcohol. We have smooth bore in badger state.

Why not build a diesel? We as a group felt that we are not ready to commit to alcohol tractors . So what are a fair set of rules? Tire size, cubic inches, and weight so that everyone involved would be happy.

Added to are rules , decubing of engine's will be allowed, engine must match manufacturers clutch housing and rear end. No front air bags

To Lewis? Why didn't the akly tractors change before giving in to the diesels? Why didn't you try a weight difference first.

How many of you pullers read rules from other clubs for the LLSS class? And yes some of the Badger State Tractor can make weight at 6000 if no intercooler and ag tires , but that's not are rules for the Badger State LLSS class. If you want to build for a certain club don't you build for that group with their rules?
