Re: What tractor class is best for Massey with 8.3 Cummins? - 3 months ago

The custom headwind be the limiting factor around here, pretty much keeps ya out of anything with smaller than 24.5s...the cs/ppp light pro a-pump would work.im assuming by custom head you mean a recast version. Also that class is kinda geographically limited to swpa too.id also say to be at its top it's a 100k build from there

lpsd - 3 months ago

The lpsd is the only diesel class with uniform rules and parts support. The compacts locally to me ,which hooked at BG can't come remotely close to a decent small block mini with 18.4s. There's many more hooks on the local level, they have Facebook groups too

Re: Would the KY blown FWD class be appealing nationally? - 4 months ago

I've never been a mod 4x4 guy.i did enjoy the ostpa blown trucks, esp at bg.made the 650 mod 4x4s look bad.laribee ended all hopes of the blown class growing outside of ostpa

Re: Do tractor pulls really make a profit? - 4 months ago

Our state kicks in for the pulls here.if they didn't the pull would have been gone decades ago.simple economics.if pulls/pulling was run like a business the sport would have died off in the 70s...

Re: Some observations from the NFMS. Part 2 - 4 months ago

QuoteAnderson Farms & Trucking Patches I'm right there with ya, I remember back in the early 90s when I had my D21 " Titty Sqeezin Fool " , it was competitive, those were the fun days and you didn't have to spend a small fortune. IMO those were the best of times when the Super Stock classes were 5500lbs -- 7500lbs -- 9500lbs.is remember your tractor well.in my opinion the best, most exci

Re: NFMS. It's not a points hook. - 4 months ago

QuoteJake Morgan Let me be clear, I'm not advocating for bringing the top 3 back for a pulloff... I was simply asking a question to patches about what he thought about bringing the top three back for a pulloff in each class? I With the way it's currently done I'd say no. BUT tighten the sled up to eliminate hitting the sandpile, then I say yes to top 3. The intent of the Sandr

Re: Some observations from the NFMS. Part 2 - 4 months ago

Jake there is no point,ANYMORE,just the name "Super stock" meant more power, more action more impressive sounding exhaust.we have all agreed that in pulling heyday ss was above ps to fans, they appealed to the senses of sight, sound, and the feeling of power..its totally flipped now ps rules,Mccormick and shramek proved that a pro can be extremely competitive in ss,and could probably win a points ser

Dick, like myself the only ss class your in love with is the late 80s to late 90s.the hyper block killed the ss class.took time ,but that was the major death blow

Does sponsoring a pulling vehicle by a manufacturer of a product that's available for sale on a national market ever produce a net gain in dollars.id have no idea how that could be tracked, and I would confidently say it doesn't, it's a tax write off

Re: Should pulling have an upper age limit? - 4 months ago

No..but a do believe there should be a "drivers test" for each level and noon should have a problem taking it when asked..I personally watched a 2 year old on a gt by himself, while his dad and grandpa were at both sides..they were static because thier child pulled at 2.I thought they were first rate a-holes for considering jeopardizing the club due to a legal suit loss from an injury.

Re: NFMS. It's not a points hook. - 4 months ago

Dick,I'm well aware it's a non points event, and also an invitational event.any time at any pulling event since the very 1st one 60 years ago the object of the sport is to move the center front of the pan the furthest away from the "0" measurement point..we all can agree on that.we all can agree that weight is no longer the only resistance that needs to be overcome, currently the trouser

Re: NFMS. It's not a points hook. - 4 months ago

That's why pulling is looked at as a hillbilly type thing most don t take seriously...because every thing is subject to change, nothing is cut and dry.its all encompassed in a huge shade of grey,no black and white

Re: Prostocks in the sand piles NFMS - 4 months ago

Masterson oughta tell "the committee" he ain't hooking if Schmucker don't, Kevin got screwed. But then again everything is subject to change based on "the committee's" opinion, instead of the actual "distance." That's why it'll always be a show with a big brush pull on the side
