Re: Some observations from the NFMS. - 11 months ago

Does sponsoring a pulling vehicle by a manufacturer of a product that's available for sale on a national market ever produce a net gain in dollars.id have no idea how that could be tracked, and I would confidently say it doesn't, it's a tax write off

Re: Should pulling have an upper age limit? - 11 months ago

No..but a do believe there should be a "drivers test" for each level and noon should have a problem taking it when asked..I personally watched a 2 year old on a gt by himself, while his dad and grandpa were at both sides..they were static because thier child pulled at 2.I thought they were first rate a-holes for considering jeopardizing the club due to a legal suit loss from an injury.

Re: NFMS. It's not a points hook. - 11 months ago

The end number is subject to change after a hook or 2 or few is made.

Re: NFMS. It's not a points hook. - 11 months ago

Dick,I'm well aware it's a non points event, and also an invitational event.any time at any pulling event since the very 1st one 60 years ago the object of the sport is to move the center front of the pan the furthest away from the "0" measurement point..we all can agree on that.we all can agree that weight is no longer the only resistance that needs to be overcome, currently the trouser

Re: NFMS. It's not a points hook. - 11 months ago

That's why pulling is looked at as a hillbilly type thing most don t take seriously...because every thing is subject to change, nothing is cut and dry.its all encompassed in a huge shade of grey,no black and white

Re: Prostocks in the sand piles NFMS - 11 months ago

Masterson oughta tell "the committee" he ain't hooking if Schmucker don't, Kevin got screwed. But then again everything is subject to change based on "the committee's" opinion, instead of the actual "distance." That's why it'll always be a show with a big brush pull on the side

magazine from ny - 11 months ago

In the mid 80s our local magazine store sold 2 pulling magazines.one was pulling power, the other was called "pulling" tractors, trucks, and livestock.it was printed in new York and mostly covered tractors and trucks and some garden tractors.i have i think all it's issues, but have never seen or heard of it mentioned by anyone else.has anyone else ever seen one or know of any,it was black and wh

Re: LLSS Component - 11 months ago

Again it's proven that updating parts to the top of the line in a budget minded class was a bad idea.the mites tires are better at moving the load farther,so more resistance on the rear and trans, now parts break..your not going to change that.if firestone puller tires were the box tire the rearend and trans problems would be reduced.then a box charger would limit the torque applied to the o

Re: Pro stock history question - 11 months ago

QuoteJake Morgan jake there was no complaining about any of this when ih was winning all the pulls now they are on the short end this is what we here. I was complaining about the 680 cubic inch limit 20-25 years ago when IH was still at the top of the class. I got told by tons of small block Deere guys and IH guys that they weren't worried about the big block Deere. The writing has be

Re: Pro stock history question - 11 months ago

Most of us that have been watching since the 70s remember how much more interest there was in the classes.personally I'm not a fan of any particular brand,I'm a fan of the sport, which in my eyes takes people to be fans.the more there are the better it is.when there was real ac's, fords, and cases mixed in it gave variety.altho at that time not many off brands could be competitive du

QuoteWell... I did my best to answer your question. Below is what I found for diesel John Deere's that have won a Super Stock title. 8,000lb Super Stock Diesel Tractors [*] Loren/Neil Gettinger - Up N Atom (2005) 7,500lb-9,500lb Super Stock Tractors [*] Warren Ropp - Iron Elk (1986) [*] Dave Schreier - Green Power Special (1980) [*] Tom Striecker - Mr. Clutch (1973) [*] Ha

not changing the rules ?? - 12 months ago

Discussion at the diner this am was, what ntpa class has had the least amount of rules changes over the years ? My guess is 4x4's,the hitch was one and dropping a weight class was other,i couldn't come up with any more tho I'm sure there was.2wd would probably be in number 2.

Re: If LLSS ran at Bowling Green? - 12 months ago

I wouldn't complain about having to many.i enjoy the ag rears, with matching hoods and engines.if bg scheduled it that would unify the rules, who would bitch about anything with the opportunity to hook there.

We always rent the complete show and we're always very pleased with the views and camera angles, intact its our groups favorite to watch and we all agree on those points.this year we all agree the diesel tractors don't seem nearly as loud as past years, the minis and walks seem normal.very well could be the smoke tube layout in this building is different that ship or gordyville which woul
