The good:
Grade A facility (track, pits, parking)
The bad
As a ‘smoke tube sider’ ship leaves a lot to be desired!
No food, no beer, no bathrooms!
Beer selection and price!
No late night food at the MEC and nothing within 20 miles of the MEC!
I vote gordyville early winter and ship 2 weeks before Louisville!

Cheaper to buy a pulling tractor then build it. I understand the pride factor of building your own tractor but strictly from a cost standpoint you’ll save in the end

Power tracks will favor the cooler, subpar tracks will favor the rpm. It’s actually pretty good rules

Leave your fuel alone and drop your timing down to create more exhaust temp, you’re going to need to be well north of 700cc of fuel with an open RPM 466 3 x 3 set up to be competitive

We should make this post really funny! Everybody who has contributed, post their full name and the tractor that they pull. Then all of us that are actually trying to make the sport better can get out the popcorn and laugh...

Gt42 based turbos are on top for 3” stuff right now. S400 tend to have reliability issues and don’t make the top end power. Hx60’s just turn too hard for a 466 to keep lit

‘Direct’ is road gear, the speed changes are slightly less then 6% each tooth jump. One over on a tractor that runs 25mph track speed in road gear, which is fast, (likely a 13/49 ring and pinion) would be about 26.5 mph

There is no doubt cost Is killing pulling. The resistance to slow down, even one gear, is truly insane! Luckily we pull with a local organization that has diversified their rules and has adopted many cost saving option.

Don’t spend the money if your going to run a box gt42. (Great reliable setup) but you ain’t going to hurt a bottom end with it

If you looking for a 13mm go with fvp they don’t offer a 14mm so they have made a much larger investment in getting everything possible out of a 13mm
