I heard this rumor yesterday but no one had or would give me a straight answer about them....
Hate to see anyone travel for no reason but also hate to see no one show up due to lack of knowledge of the classes..

Open the Too Hot Attachment on the original post to view rules.
Main changes include side shields, fuel shut off or dump valve, fire extinguisher recommended, and if your tractor is equipped with a cage you need to wear a helmet (to prevent hitting your head)

I've received some calls questioning if you were having a speed limit too hot to farm. Many specified they were not interested in going if they would have to pull in the 11,500 open.

I agree that someone is always waiting to take over! Just lost a farm I rented for 24years to a sealed bid sale. Apparently people here in SW WI aren't scared of the market by the price they were willing to pay for land. Larger farm sold last year for 10.5K per acre. this farm sold In the range of 16k per acre...

Are you pulling naturally aspirated or with a turbo?
390 or 370 injection head is plenty for Natural (Currently running a 330 head maxed out on a 4020/404ci setup) or the 450 would be good for running with a turbo. Also a soft governor spring would help.

As a promoter in the SW Wisconsin area, this is what I have used for the last few years. Seems to work well and without the fighting. Using the speed and rpm restrictions have minimized TECHing tractors because lets face it; hard finding a honest tech that doesn't get accused of playing favorites and people will go to many lengths to hide things they feel is an advantage. A few of us promoters sat down the other night and discussed the 2014 season and had a few rule updates we'd like to incorporate for 2015.
These rules will be in place at events such as Cuba City, Potosi, Lancaster, Platteville, Etc..
Basically for safety reasons (both Puller and Spectator) we are adding the following to the 9000# Modified Farm and 11,500# Too Hot to Farm Classes.

The idea of a 540 limit was to prevent big cube engines from being built and pushing out the little guys. 540 was used because of the v8 masseys in the area.
As for too hot to farm the 540+ tractors have been discussed and we only truely see one consistantly. In which he did not dominate the class The 5020 has been told that he is grandfathered under the terms of not making changes to his mac
