The only thing I've been able to come-up with on Facebook is Loda Good Ole Days Truck and Tractor Pull. Is this the site you've all been talking about? If it isn't, would someone be so kind to give me a link to the correct site? Thanks in advance.

Patches,
I've heard a lot of people on the pulling sites refer to the "good ole days" (I think it's a pulling site). Where is this located on the net? I've not been able to locate it under that name. I'm really into the old school pulling and would love to read some of the postings.

There's a truck and tractor pull at Saline City, Indiana on Labor Day weekend. Saline City is located approximately 20 miles ESE of Terre Haute, Indiana. Nice little pull with some good food and good additional entertainment. Contact Greg Nicoson at 812-249-5903 for more information on the truck and tractor classes. Maybe someone else who sees this thread will have a copy of the flyer for th

I'd like to find some photos of old modified pulling tractors. Yes, I know that there was a thread sometime ago which had many photos, and I've saved many of them. I'm exclusively looking for photos of flipped up-side down F-30 tractors like the Under Rat. I think it was from Kentucky, but I'm not exactly sure. I think Lanny Kay had one too. Any help is appreciated in advance.

Why wouldn't those who advertise on the "For Sale Page" price things high? Many people (not all) are always wanting "a deal", Those individuals that I'm referring to don't think they've gotten that deal unless they buy something advertised for half to two thirds the advertised price. In my case, lets be honest. There are some things I bought at a decent price, some I got "a de

I worked building and rebuilding both stock and high performance diesel injection pumps back in the mid 90's until the early 2000's. The shop I worked at specialized in Simms pumps for classes where the factory pump was required. We build several 12MM pumps in stock Simms/CAV/Lucas pump housings. They were also equipped with high lift cams, ground delivery valves, no retard slots and ot

I saw this old film at lunch time today and thought I'd share it. While it's not about tractor pulling, it is about the old Farmall fleet from the 30's. I'm sure dealers showed these at dinners, much like they did in the 60's and 70's. If it's been posted before, I must have missed it. It's a bit hokey, but consider the time.

Todd,
I do remember the Bull Shippers Express, but for the life of me, I can't remember the owners name. Wow, this thread has brought back a lot of memories of old tractors. I had nothing against the Supers and Stockers of the day, I just always loved modifieds. I remember mainly the mod pullers from west central and southwestern Indiana. Names like Coffman, Watson, Sanders, Clodfe

Todd, if the F-20/F-30 was all black, then it sounds like it might have been Mack Bohn. He was always very flamboyant. He called his tractor Asinine 1. Many people thought the lettering said As# Annie when they first looked at it. I've got some poor quality photos of his tractor. If I can scan them and get them to come out, I'll post them. I attended a lot of pulls with him, including t

Jason,
Do you have any photos of your tractor to share? I think there's several of us around that like the thought of resurrecting old pulling tractors, especially the modifieds. It's amazing the amount of different combinations of engines and chassis' that were tried. It was very common back in the day to narrow an F-30 differential / axle housing, then flip the final

I know this has little to do with this thread, but I just couldn't resist. You know the old joke don't you? Why do they paint John Deere's green? "So they can hide in the tall grass when the real tractors go by"! Ok John Deere owners and fans, I love all the colors and like to see them all compete. It was an old joke that I've always thought was cute. Another one goes; Do you

I was told by Chad at Hoosier Tire to run approximately 1 PSI per thousand pounds of weight. We have a 5,800 lb. single engine modified with a set of double cut 24.5 X 32 old style Pullers, and he wasn't far off. We normally have run between 6 1/4 PSI down to 5 3/4 PSI. I hope that helps.

I know here in Indiana that there were two tractors and owners that had a great influence in getting what would become the Pro-Stock class from HSTPA to NTPA. One was Sonny Kixmiller and the other was Rodney Horst. Both ran Cases and they called their group of tractors the "Black Sheep Squadron". I believe Sonny's tractor was a 970 and he called it "Happy Pappy". Rod Horst run a 1070, but ri

I remember Don Neukomm coming to the pull at Sullivan Indiana for several years in a row back in the early to mid 70's. The photos posted remind me of his tractor, but I thought in the years I saw him pull (including some pulls in Illinois) he had a blown and Hilborn injected (old four port with a 14" air cleaner and dual filters attached) 482 Chevy. I could be wrong as it's been close

Todd,
I'm pretty sure you're right on the years, I'm thinking 1976-1978. I know he was from Missouri and I think his name was Don Berry, but I could be wrong. I believe I saw him at the Indiana State Fair sometime in that period when I was pulling my tractor in the old 5 Mod class. Of course I think he was pulling 12,000 Super Stock, possibly the 9,000 SS.

No, I don't think anyone is behind the times. It's not that I personally have anything against diesel classes. The problem is if everyone had a class tailored to their wants and desires, there'd be hundreds of diesel tractor and truck classes. Many pullers out there have their own ideas of what would be the "perfect" class. I agree with many of the other postings on this site and o

You know, I'm not really critical on any pulling class and love practically every class offered. Sadly, I think the diesel tractor and truck classes are getting out of hand. Seems like a lot of pullers in these classes want a class to specifically fit their tractor or truck. Please, no more diesel classes, just build for a class that already exists!

"Ya Right" I guess you've got it right. My posting has nothing to do with "farm gimmies" as you stated, but that wasn't the topic of the original post and thread anyway, it has to do with whether to finance your pulling tractor or not. I don't farm anymore and don't get anything in the way of farm subsidies and never did even when I did farm. I paid for my toy with off the far

Ole Dad sure was fair with me, went around me and left around a third of the farm ground (only 1/3 of it's productive) to my daughters, but I have to pay the taxes and insurance on it till I die.
