Re: 2023 NFMS Invite List Posted - 1 year ago
I'm always amazed when I hear that people think that the NFMS should have a whole set of different pullers every other year. Do they honestly think that there's this huge pool of Mods, PS, DSS etc. to pick from. I think that the NFMS committee does a great job of bringing in the top vehicles in each respective class. They have freshened up the show year after year with new and interestiby Dick Morgan - Forum
Re: ? for Dick Morgan - 1 year ago
I am certainly no expert in the reality show world, and if the show was done with the object of portraying the sport in a positive light then I agree it could be beneficial. However there is always the risk with the reality show audience that they gravitate to garbage. If pulling could manage the production it could work. Having said that who is your target audience?by Dick Morgan - Forum
Re: Off the wall idea - 1 year ago
The problem with any "reality " show is they always try a put a bad spin on it. Pulling is a legitimate motorsport. Points, champions, fair and honest results. Totally opposite than what a reality show will portray. There is nothing real in a reality show.by Dick Morgan - Forum
Re: No need for 650 ci alkys. - 1 year ago
In the perfect world that sounds good, in the real world that's not possible. You are asking every 600+ cubic inch alcohol SS to rebuild. Not going to happen.by Dick Morgan - Forum
Re: Whats the point? - 1 year ago
I couldn't agree more with the idea that there is a certain level of limited HP hooded tractors that have huge numbers. While I realize that the SF class is not loved universally, it is a class, along with the Lt. PS and Limited PS that are the backbone of state and regional pulling in the tractor classes. Pulling is built on state and regional shows. This is not to discount PS. LSS. OSS anby Dick Morgan - Forum
Re: PPL continuing - 1 year ago
While this is great news for pullers and fans there are still alot of loose ends to tie up. What will the organization look like, will they still have state level clubs, will the CT as have many of their previous events? Will they only run 2 day events, a possible shakeup of classes offered? It will be interesting to say the least.by Dick Morgan - Forum

Re: ADVERTISE!! - 1 year ago
I am by no means an expert of the topic. However as a fan I always look to see if they are running the vehicles that I enjoy. I realize that not every event is going to run 5000 HP vehicles, yet I do want to see a pretty good level of power. Not every class for sure but at least a couple.by Dick Morgan - Forum

Re: Give Thanks PPL - 1 year ago
In today's sue crazy world liability is a huge issue. Any company has as one of their primary issues is the protection of their name. I'm sure that Lucas did not run out of money, rather a refocus of their assets.by Dick Morgan - Forum
Re: Give Thanks PPL - 1 year ago
Hard to judge about the financial side of PPL. How do you quantify the advertising value for their products. Their business models are very different with their approach to the sport.by Dick Morgan - Forum

Re: Two words. - 1 year ago
Bryan, I couldn't agree more. Time to see how this plays out. I believe that both John and Kristi are the right people in the right place to make this work. There contacts with previous sponsors and great relationships with pullers is a tremendous plus. Re: Mitas - 1 year ago
Do you know if a cut, mounted, inflated tire is illegal? I understand how the rule written, however common sense needs to prevail. The tire should measured on the vehicle in the pulling environment.by Dick Morgan - Forum

I'm confused, how can a tire be illegal until it's cut, mounted and inflated? I'm sure I'm missing something here.by Dick Morgan - Forum

I will take a stab at the question. I would say the cubic inch rule is the one that is seldom, if ever checked.by Dick Morgan - Forum
The new NTPA 5. regional PS class. - 1 year ago
I've been watching this class proposal and I never realized that this was being started as a RN level on trial basis in Region 2. So this begs the question, who is going to build for a class that is only being offered in region 2 and only on a trial basis? Why would anyone take this leap of faith to invest their time and money into a class that may, or may not be permanent? Is the NTPA hopinby Dick Morgan - Forum
Re: Pit Passes and Waiver Forms - 1 year ago
This is pretty simple, ALL pits should be open to the fans. We always talk about making the sport better in one sentence and then charge the fan money to see the vehicles and drivers up close. The biggest pull in the world has wide open pits. They understand that the fan buys the tickets and supports the sponsors. Not sure why this even a discussion.by Dick Morgan - Forum
Re: There is no SFI spec for wheel tethers - 1 year ago
I don't believe that we want to only focus on a rear wheel coming loose, a front tire can also do a tremendous amount of damage. And to say that the tethers are not needed is very short sighted. Not every event can just install fencing around the track. I have seen rear/front wheels climb a barrier and crash into walls. We can just keep pretending that " serious stuff" won't happen iby Dick Morgan - Forum

Re: NTPA DSS LOWER NUMBERS - 1 year ago
Brent. You are looking at proposed rules. At the Enderle the rule pump location in both Lt PS and DSS states that the pump must stay in the stock location. There is no explanation on the NTPA website.by Dick Morgan - Forum

Re: What should be the future of sanctioned single-charger classes? - 1 year ago
I love the argument " we don't want limits". In truth Every class has limits. There is a whole rule book for every class in pulling that sets limits. The discussion should be should pulling change the limits in a certain class.by Dick Morgan - Forum
Re: jake and dick morgan - 1 year ago
While I agree that Outlaws also have great events (l have attended their shows) my post was " bucket list" events. And I still maintain that there are very few true "bucket list" pulls. BG and Louisville and the Enderle are very unique shows. BG is the biggest pull in the world, Louisville has the NFMS to add to the mix and the Enderle is a pull that runs 2 sessions of all the NTPA regional topby Dick Morgan - Forum
