Foster is currently third in the Mid-South (Region VI) points. Missing three hooks has hurt him, but he could certainly pull it off by the end of the year.

There was one event that I went to that was starting to lose my attention one night (and it had to do with the time between hooks), so I decided to time the time in between hooks and it was averaging around 5 minutes. I agree with fiftyniner about three minutes being a good time to shoot for.

An added note:
If you're worried about the weather closer to pull time, you can call the Battle of the Bluegrass "office" phone (502-271-8978) or you can call the fair office (270-297-9519).

Me,
If the laser is set up PROPERLY it will be more accurate, but I don't think a lot of them go through the trouble. I know the ones that run it at Brandenburg go through the trouble, but that's about it. Look at it this way, you have it set up where it's in the middle of the track and a tractor goes to the far right side, if it's not set up properly it'll read that t

The reasoning for the sound quality not being the best on the GoPro videos is the housing that allows you to mount it--since some people mount them and go 150 mph, it does help to reduce the wind noise. You could probably find a way to mount it sans housing, but I wouldn't want to risk a $300 camera that way.
Do you have a link to a video using a vholdr?

Robert,
I use 1080 on mine, and while I agree that the file sizes are big, I find that they are worth it. If you are planning on uploading them--which is perhaps one reason you are worried about file sizes--, get the (FREE) CineForm Studio from GoPro's website and cut out any unnecessary footage.
And correct me if I'm wrong, but all GoPro cameras should be HD. Are you saying that

Just a few thoughts here...
Looker ater: "No hyped up voices during the pull."
- What is wrong with "hyped up voices"? I would rather have a hype-man as opposed to someone that could stand in for Bueller's Economics teacher. Not saying that Randall and Corzine are that way, but I go into more detail about that later.

The local Fair/brush pulling is where I see controversy at almost every pull. It either involves no rules or too many rules. We still have all one color groups and if your not in that group you're out. I have just learned to pick the most fun and well run pulls to go to. Pulling is my time away from problems and If I can't have an enjoyable time then I'll stay home. I do

2) About how long does it take to build them.

Jason,
If there's nothing I love more, then it is a Saturday night of pulling in Brandenburg. Plenty of action in the six classes and it certainly couldn't have happened without a lot of support. A big thank you to all of those who made the pull happen. If you weren't there, you missed out for sure.
On a related note: I know it's nothing like being there in person, but

I am going to go out on a limb and say that the turnout was low in part to the co-sanctioned pull in Brandenburg by the Bluegrass pulling series and the KTPA on Saturday.
13 Light Limited Super Stocks, 9 Hot Farm, and I'm not sure how Stock II 4x4 trucks compare to KTPA's Pro Stock Four Wheel Drive trucks, but there were 14 of those.

Not a very talked about aspect about the Franklin pull, but the hamburgers that the Freemasons sell are one of the best damn hamburgers that you will ever eat. Would you happen to know if they are going to run the concessions or is it some other group?
Franklin is a great venue and I'm interested to see how many LLSS pullers make the call.

Sipes has been pulling for 25 years and to accuse him of cheating is a slap in the face to all the hard work that he has put in over the years. While 570's method of explanation was a little on the unorthodox side, it hit the point head-on. The more time you spend on something, the better you're going to be at it (usually).

While pulling is for fun--it's certainly not to become rich--Bret is right that pullers don't like being cheated out of position and money. It's sad that the accusations got so bad that EVERYONE has to be checked now. If you're so confident that someone is cheating, then at least have the huevos to pony up the cash. While it is a hassle, it does ensure that everyone is playing

To say that the sled could have been tighter would be the understatement for the season. Wow.
From the NTPA rulebook: "If three or more competitors exceed 320 feet, only competitors past 320 feet will come back in the pull off."

To have a great crowd a Beer Garden is neccesary, if allowed.
Have to respectfully disagree here. I have been to one pull that has had a beer garden and didn't observe any notable difference in the size of the crowd. Of course, one test is not a reliable indicator to confirm a theory, so I may be wrong. If I am a promoter, I am trying to draw in the pulling fans--not the

Since this class has no entertainment value, it has been dropped from the Outlaw schedule and all SF pulls have been replaced with LPS hooks.
Hopefully PPL and NTPA will follow suit.
And what exactly gives it "no entertainment value" as you have so eloquently put it? I, personally, get no entertainment from watching antique pulls, but I know a lot of people that do. It's all a
