2nd gear = 16.59
3rd Gear = 13.62
bull gear ratio is 5.5:1, all other math is in Deere Puller's response.

I'm using a 3 disk pulling clutch, they quit making them a few years ago, but there are some other places making the same thing still. Trav's 4x4 performance can set you up with one.

This has always been my question, but I always figured there are people out there that know a whole lot more about it than me. My 10 1/2" Mcleod clutch seems to hold just fine.

560 is larger than the 656/666/686 and you can use a larger clutch with it.

706 is definitely the strongest, but will be expensive to get light enough, next would be either the 560 or 656/666.

I was sitting in the meeting with Klint speaking he said Recast were allowed, alky's weigh 100 less than diesel.

I don't think you would be able to make one work on alky as there is still fire in the hole when the piston comes down and opens up the port which could be a spectacular explosion. I would wonder about using a 8 cylinder injection pump and running twin chargers with a cooler, but you would still be 100 cubic inches short of the limit.

Too much fun and just for fun are a 460 and a 656 rearend. Not sure which is which, but the 460 has a dt360 in front of it and the 656 has a 301. I was told the 460 will be upgraded to another 656 soon.

I have no idea on the Doug deal, but did want to chime in and apologize for the poor showing of the LLSS class at Onawa. I had a fuel pump belt that popped off after the engine went lean and abruptly ended my run. We have changed several things around and are having to fight everything. NO ONE was more disappointed than I was I can promise you that. After working all week to try to get my sec

These are the national rules plus 150 pounds minus the 470 diesel and giving all diesel tractors an extra hundred pounds. Which part of them is not "rules that are already working"

6400 alky
370 cube single
6500 diesel
315 twin w/cooler
360 twin
410 single w/cooler
all run 3x4 smooth bore, recast heads and decubing allowed. 30.5 tires.

The reason given at the ppl meeting for not letting 470 diesels in was that they already have half a dozen 466 classes, and even if they added them it would require different turbos and be a teching nightmare.

Fairly close to National rules with the exception everyone runs a smooth bore 3x4 and the option of a 315 twin turbo alky engine, but as I understood it must be an original spark ignition engine to run twins on alky.

Check out the 2000 Outlaw points standings for the 5700 light superstock:
http://pulling-reference.com/ottpa_points00.htm
6 Different brands in the top 10 in points and all had the same safety equipment we have today with the exception of the front end skids which may weigh 50 pounds?
So why do we need to take turbochargers off of these tractors and tack on another 500 pounds?

My 460 weighs 4200 bare, so there is an allis and a IH that can make 5500 easily with all this new safety equipment.

I know the 2nd ad is good as it is mine, I still have the engine and would LOVE to make someone a heck of a deal on it! As for the first ad, I bought my engine from him, I think he has sold all of his Detroit stuff though.

I can't guarantee it, but I am 90% sure that with $75,000 I could put a Detroit out front, but if it did happen the rules would get changed to keep the Detroit out because it's something different.

The reason you couldn't run it at crankshaft speed is that the pump would be turning around 5000 rpm (with the engine turning 5000 rpm) which would be the equivalent of it turning on a 4 stroke engine running at 10,000 rpm. All the pump guys I talked to say the pump can't take that kind of rpm, thus if you ran 2 pumps at 1/2 engine speed you would be fine, but probably run into an issu

Honestly it may be cheaper to just get new injectors and a fuel pump. Give Chris Hassinger a call 570-850-3883. 2 strokes are the only thing he works on.

You will need to install a carrier bearing on the top shaft of the transmission toward the front of the case. What is happening is the shafts are spreading apart until the teeth can no longer hold and the small diameter of the top shaft is allowing this to happen. We had to do this, but that was 25 years ago so I have forgotten the specifics of it.
