Boy I wish all you guys could see that - I do have a facebook account and I saw all 34 pictures they have up of it. Beautiful piece of work all the way around. If you can, find someone with a facebook account and check out those pictures. It'll be worth your time.

Did you try ProFab in Baldwin, WI?
Give Larry a call at (715) 796-5230
or just check out the website:
We just got half gears for our Ford from him - we got a 7000 transmission, but I'm sure he's done 9600's too.

We tugged an 8000# Super Stock around with a Polaris Sportsman 500 for quite a while. That was a little small for the job, but still got-r-done. Now it's in retirement tugging around 6000# Light Supers...haha

-Good points...I guess I hadn't looked at it that way. It does sound more like the announcer at a pull with the way he writes.
-I agree with the comment about some of the other magazines that give more attention to the pictures and no real substance in the text.
-And, "HP", I'm not claiming to be an arrogant 'expert,' but I appreciate the proper use of the language, somethi

Absolutely right. I don't put my real name in my posts, but I'd be happy to share it with anyone who would like to talk about something (if I make a hostile post or a strongly opinionated one, etc.) I'd also be happy to pay to use this forum ,and, a "paying" system or not, I love the idea of only letting registered users post things.

I just went to the Full Pull website and it's kind of cool how you can view the past issues online. However the quality of the articles is extremely poor, especially when compared to "The Puller" articles. I am a puller and fan and I'm a soon-to-be college graduate and I can honestly say some of those articles sound like things we wrote in 8th grade. Maybe it's not that big of a de

We have a 4 cylinder hot farm tractor that runs about 4000 rpm - we've never used more than a gallon of diesel fuel in a single run.
I think that's about the norm...roughly 1-2 gallons of diesel per run. As far as the alcohol trucks and tractors though, you'll be looking at 4-6 gallons (per engine - mulitiply by number of engines for the modifieds).

Wayne at Steelcraft in Colby, WI built the exhaust headers for a few of the GN LSS tractors from WI
He might be able to help you out (He also builds fuel tanks and aluminum rims)

In my opinion, this rule seems to be for the guys who run tractors in a division with many engine/sheetmetal combinations and discontinued models (For example, tractors under the general AGCO name). Since a rule can't discriminate or specialize in a certain brand, the rule must apply to all brands. I'm not a big fan of the idea, as many of you have already mentioned. Now, in defense of

The sled they use around Central WI (Track Patrol) seems to stop the big hot farm tractors just fine. I dont think a DSS or USS would hook on blacktop...I would think that would be an interesting but potentially dangerous situation.

I don't think the extra couple hundred pounds (not sure on the exact figure) matters in this case. Esdon laid down an amazing pass Saturday night and I'm quite sure the extra weight didnt make a difference - he put 20 feet on most of the class. Only one other tractor (504 Rocket) was less than 20 feet behind him.

Here's a picture I took of it in the pits at Sandwich. I'm not sure what kind of paint scheme he has lined up but it looks real nice and is on its way to be a top competitor after only a few runs. It's lookin great and congrats/good luck to the Guza team in the future!

don't get too attached to the 9600. it's just a temporary fill-in...the blueprint is laid out already for the brand new Leyland sheet metal in 2010; the new tractor is being set up with traction control and a PTWS monitor. I can't disclose too many more details because it was marked top-secret by Fat Boy himself. Sorry if I let the cat out of the bag too soon, but I just couldn

That's what we run on our hot farm tractor...you probably wouldnt HAVE to, but we did just for safety's sake and to decrease the worry factor. If you're spending the money on tires and aluminum rims, you might as well spend the extra couple hours to screw them in.
