I really don't want to argue with you because you might know how to measure horsepower through a computer screen; I just don't know of too many people who can do that...Anyway, in response to the original post, we have more than enough power to break a Ford 4000 transmission, that's all I'm saying for sure.

The Ford 4000 transmission is not very strong...We broke(shattered a couple gears inside) two of them with a 4 cylinder tractor. Granted, we have more HP than your average 4cyl - around 500-600HP - but since we switched to a 7000 transmission (which was the same as one from a 5000) we havent had any problems. I would recommend the bigger transmission if you're doing anything bigger than far
