If Vaughn Bauer is really one of the leads to buy it wouldn’t there be conflict of interest with him being on wpi board and his wife on outlaw board?
Wrong Lori Bauer there bud..... There's two of them.

I don't understand your logic. If pullers already own Mitas tires why would they go to NTPA
How many pro stocks actually have a set of mitas tires? I think it's safe to say there are more with pro pullers than mitas because of the rare availability of them in North America.... If you are part if the majority who does not have them, and can't get them, why do you

I bet you'll see people run back to NTPA to avoid the mitas tire if PPL allows the mitas to stay.....

For anyone who is curious.... No, the Mean Green sled is not the same machine that was blue with the NC+ Hybrids painting, that sled was sold to Finland in about 88 or so.
The Mean Green sled was originally the sled Dave built immediately following selling the first sled, so 89 ish was when Mean Green was built utilizing the twin small block Chevrolet with the Banter crossbox. It originally h

If I remember correctly in the mid to late 90s ITPA left the NTPA sanctioning body and went on their own. Things went downhill after that. I believe now they’re under PPL sanctioning body.
No they are not, ITPA is an independent sanctioning body.

If this link works, you can see Logan Thomas' sled already has a light facing downwards from the tube they put the laser reflector on. Looks like a good idea. Even if the track is too dark to see the cone, they can still see to hook up.
I have work lights on the back of the cab now too. Lol

Well put it this way.... for some smaller county fairs, I have considered trying to attach some sort of light to the cone because there's 2 friggin 40 watt light bulbs at the 100 foot mark! Yea I always look for the cone when I back up, and I usually notice if it's been moved or not. Thats why I say, please don't do it after we're backed in or too close to swing it over, in ca

As a sled operator..... If you're making a big change in the cone placement, please ask someone to stand at the new cone placement & get the operators attention as he's backing down the track. When you've hooked 15-20 vehicles & nobody has done more than split tracks in the same area, the sled operator & scraper/roller drivers usually get a good little rhythm going on. So when you

As for riders in the sleds... NTPA does have a rule against it, but the North American Sled Operators Association says a rider may only ride if they have a seat with a seat belt (which must be worn) & must ride for the duration of a class. Typically the only riders allowed at a PPL event are a member of the sled crew, a sponsor representative, or a promoter.
As for safety, I'll use mini

What that means is, there is no increase in hook fee's if you're not a member of the organization. Everyone pays the same hook fee regardless of membership.

Mr. Thomas
As it appears from you remarks you seem to have another side of the story. So what is your side? You seem to not really dispute OH1979er remarks and besides that why does there need to be a big cover up about it? It is a given that DPS was not the best thing for NTPA, but he sure did make WPI.
How about you start by signing your real name to your post...

NTPA will never exist again as it’s own entity. Under the dark of night and without a vote from the member states then President of NTPA Loy Thomas and then WPI CEO David P. made a back room deal that sealed NTPA’s fate forever. There used to be two sets of financials one for NTPA and one for WPI and NTPA was slowly paying off its debt and was going to be its own entity again. On

I love to go as fast as possible with whatever class is running, but do y'all have any idea how hard that box hits the front with 10-12 weights in it running 35 mph? Or what happens when an 8,000 lb tractor locks up a rearend with a 55,000 lb sled riding about 3' off the back edge of the wheelie bars??? Just food for thought from the back side of the hook....

Personally, I've never hooked the NTPA unlimited class, only the PPL super mod class. But yes, the more weight that has to be loaded in the wagon definitely affects how easy/hard it rolls to start off with. A trailer with 10 bales of hay pulls easier than a trailer loaded with 20 bales of hay.....

Since this has turned into an unlimited class discussion....
Again just my personal opinion, but the class was better when there were 5 chevys, 6 chevys, 4 hemis, triple Allison's, and the 3-4 turbine tractors. Competition was closer, there was variety, there was a character about the class that was unrivaled anywhere else in motorsports in my opinion. That 2005-2010 era was awesome for

So everyone has their own ideas & opinions on what would be "perfect" or the "ideal situation". Pulling is no different, whether you're a competitor, an official, a promoter, a board member/director, or a fan. And as we all know, opinions are like feet, they're all different & some stink... But here is my "ideal" structure for pulling.

I'd say the unlimited supers were restricted to alcohol only due to the smoke tube. Why drag the tube for a whole class for just one tractor? Lots of wear & tear in that equation every time it goes down the track.

Hypothetically speaking.... "what if" instead of the light unlimited class at BG, they simply had a 7,500 lb regional/state level type class? Would that affect state events that weekend? Would it get good enough participation at BG? Would there be guys step down from the 7,500 GN style class to the RN class to stand a better chance than running the 7,500 NTPA GN or 7,800 PPL class?
