You're exactly right Jake, keep them reeled in & you'll have multiple vehicles within a foot of each other.

Won't work. Can't guarantee which tires will break the beams to trip it. Wheelies... Setting the lights higher is the same problem. Did the weights break it, did the hood, did the stack... What if the wind is down track and spool smoke does it? Seen it all happen.
Keep it simple.
If we want to know this, you already have Agritronix on-board. For those that don'

Ed Hart did this back in the early '90's. Put a timing light at the 75' mark and another at the 300', fastest through the lights won. I would guess, when you extend the track out to 350+' the tractor that went through the lights the fastest also won on distance. If we are going to just keep extending tracks to make sure there are no pulloffs, this is a much

This whole thread is centered around the "NTPA hall of fame", y'all are forgetting a major factor though.... If at any point any of these great contributors to this sport butted heads with D.P.S., they won't be nominated for a lllooonnnggg time, if ever! If we were talking about a true, non-political pulling hall of fame, then most of these people mentioned would be great nominations! B

This is exactly why the sled operators should have a big LED sign that displays the weight in the box (or a force gage attached to the chain). That way all the fans can have a true appreciation and better understanding of the differences in the classes.
Well now let's think about this logically.... Hypothetically speaking, I'm gonna run 8500 limited pro's with 4 weigh

None whatsoever, I'm simply using the hot farm/upoc situation as an example of the "control" NTPA will now have over the Florida pullers. They had something great going as an independent group, why mess it up with any national sanctioning body?
What is there to be gained? How much money will now be sent to Columbus from Florida that will never be returned in any way? How many pullers are

Yeah right.... let's ask Mike Robbins & others in that 510 class how far year old leftover parts will get you. It's like any other class, it will get you mid pack at best. Those classes are just like super farm, 4.1, & even light limited super stocks, someone comes out with a new charger every year that makes 50 more horse on the dynamic so everyone that wants to win goes & spends thous

Why didn't they already have classes & rules & vehicles built to match national organization rules & classes so they could travel & compete in the first place??? Probably because of the same reasons any group of pullers do this, cost to build & maintain, and the fact they're not interested in traveling all over the country to compete!

Having a bit of knowledge about how NTPA is with classes not recognized in their existing rulebook... how are the Florida pullers going to accept this arrangement?
The 8,000 lb Light Limited Pro Stock Tractors in Florida (similar to an 8500 Limited Pro or a 77/7800 Light Limited Turbo from Interstate) are nowhere to be found in the NTPA rulebook. Neither is a naturally aspirated 2wd truck, n

Sand is the best for a track that gets hard or tight. Also allows for ease of track maintenance for keeping track consistent.
I will blatantly argue that point.... intentionally adding sand to a pulling track IS NOT a good idea. A heavy clay track needs organic matter to make it consistent & prevent it from getting too hard. The best way to achieve this is by adding animal waste, wo

While not exactly a current happening, there has been pulling in Hawaii. I can't remember what company it was, maybe from California, took one of the Elenbaum sleds & a group of 4wd trucks to Aloha Stadium for a pulling exhibition. USA Motorsports took a small group of minis & 4wd trucks as well as a few monster trucks to San Juan Puerto Rico sometime in the late 80's. My mom & dad went

Michael, how is the PPL DSS class for numbers ???????
What in the absolute **** does that have to do with the price of rice in China??? When you have a faithful following of 12+ unlimited supers, why the hell do you worry with a class of 6 diesels??? PPL has two very well attended diesel classes on the Champions tour circuit..... PRO STOCK & SUPER FARM!!!

As a sled operator who has to haul around & deal with multiple sets of portable scales.... a portable scale is 10x more headache than any sled ever will be. Most of the main problems have already been discussed here;
***Where they are sitting & what they're sitting on. Dirt? Grass? Concrete? Gravel? Is it level? Is there a low corner? Is a ramp sitting weird causing interference?

10,000 lb Heavy Pro Stock Tractors (only changes to modern-day being drop the cubes to 640, & stay with the 6x6 turbo)
8,000 lb Heavy Super Stock Tractors (use existing PPL unlimited super rules)
8,000 lb Light Pro Stock Tractors (same as a 10 pro, except 540 or 510 cubes, and a 4.5x4.5 turbo)
6,000 lb Light Super Stock (maybe allow a diesel the extra weight to go 540

Wayson, Corzine, & Theobold also have the option of running 2 engines with the 14/71's in the regional class as well. I've never been to BG, always somewhere else with a sled that weekend every year, but I like this idea.

In May of 2012 at Lincolnton NC, PPL mod hook, Scott Tedder actually left the staging lanes to return to his hauler. Removed an engine completely, re-scaled to run 3 engines on board so he could put extra moveable weight on the back of the tractor. Pretty sure Reese Shelton only ran 3 on Friday night at Ellsworth last fall.

What classes are you people referring to having trouble stopping? Unlimiteds, four engine mods, & semis perhaps? I can't think of any other class that ever needs more than 10 weights on the sled at any given time.
Get your popcorn & a drink, I'm going to say a lot here...
So let's look at some facts here, the unlimited class is an NTPA only class, what sleds are essentially
