Re: compact diesel pulling - 14 years ago
When they (whoever that was) designed the rules, they made the tractors WAY too short for the power they produce. I know in the German competition they have already lowered the hitch for all to calm them down, not sure if that has been the case all over Europe yet, too.by Sascha - Forum

I can't answer your first question as I am not a diesel man, but I can get you some contacts over here and the Vos gang knows the answers, too. As for engines, most are VWs (the TDIs are easy to get) but there is also a few Peugots and Fords. Here's the qualification runs of the EC two weeks ago:by Sascha - Forum

I would find it REAL comedy, if you were not allowed to use the STOCK OEM engine and head in Tractor Pulling competition in classes that carry the name "stock". To quote a saying from ten years ago "those who come too late are punished by the life" - and as reality showed, end up in the trash bin of history. Re: Updated engine block and hood list - 14 years ago
Correct, it came in the Deutz Allis, the Deutz DX 8.71 and DX 240 as well as in the big torpedo. The engines are rather rare over here though... seems there is more of them in the US than in Europe. Also already in use in Shagnasty and Lustiks 2nd tractor.by Sascha - Forum
Re: Updated engine block and hood list - 14 years ago
The Sisu engine comes with the MF hood these days and the Fiat Block was used in Fiat Tractors (sold as Hesston in the US) and New Holland (painted brown). So actually that 8.2 Liter Fiat would fly with any New Holland hood, too.by Sascha - Forum
Legal tractor engines to add to Jake's list - 14 years ago
There is two rather interesting engines to add to your list: M A N D2566 (as already used in the Hurricane ULSS) 6 cyl inline, 698 cui, came in the Fendt 626 (non articulated!), Very common semi and coach engine - had 320 hp "off the shelf" but reduced in power a bit for the use in the tractor. Re: Nice try! - 14 years ago
Would have to talk to the guys. They can probably fix it themselves if they have the parts... Going to get a 13mm P and an HX 50 at 2700 rpm. O ringing the head and so on will be done here. See what you could get. I will meet them next saturday and talk it over with them then. Better contact me by Email, as I am not sure i can follow this forum next week: pullinby Sascha - Forum
Re: Nice try! - 14 years ago
So far no replacement engine has been shipped. Anyhow - I checked a couple of data yesterday and the White tractors seem to be direct ancestors of the Oliver tractors, and in deed those had the 5.9 cummins in them. In our hot farm class it is ok to match the smaller rear with a bigger engine (like they put 4 cyl IH rears behind the DT 358 and DT402 IH), as long as you don't cross brand linby Sascha - Forum
Re: Nice try! - 14 years ago
Thanks for that info! So that would be more or less the same as all the 6 cyl Fordson Majors that are running in England. "Official conversions"... Thanks again! Saschaby Sascha - Forum
Re: Nice try! - 14 years ago
I have checked some details and under the red paint it came with you can still read "oliver 1855" ... somebody must have turned it from green to red. Tractor came out of TX, too... Now it's lime greenby Sascha - Forum
Re: Nice try! - 14 years ago
Would the 5.9 Cummins be an engine that has been put in front of that rearend by the factory in the past? They need to run an engine that either came with that rearend or anything that bolts right on from the same manufacturer (doesn't make sense on that tractor) or "legal replacement" Problem is, Oliver / White / Agco is non existent over here and nobody has a clue about those tractorby Sascha - Forum

Re: Nice try! - 14 years ago
Sorry to interrupt! I have some guys here, that pull hot farm and bought themselves a more or less "junk" tractor to turn it into something. It arrived in red / brown but surely has the old White / Oliver front grill and seems to have the 5.1 Liter Waukesha engine in there. The Waukesha is seems absolutely worthless and the 06 Deutz eat that thing alive. Now they are looking for engine optiby Sascha - Forum

Re: How much horsepower will a 560 rearend handle??? - 14 years ago
The question is a little tough to answer, as the question should be "how much tourque can the rearend handle?". Horsepower is the result of tourque * rpm, and it's the tourque that breaks stuff, not the rpms (they can cause trouble, too but different ones). So, the more rpm you put through it with the same tourque, the more "horsepower" it can transfer. The size of the tires and the weightby Sascha - Forum
