Re: US Auto Industry - 14 years ago
Hi! You are right on the liability problem in the US. That's just part of the story though. We live on EXPORT The standard of living here (Germany) is based upon selling products to other countries. We have like no natural resources and have to import pretty much everything and then turn those "raw materials" into something that other people want. I heard it said > that if you pay a man to build a car 70.00 an hour > and try to sell that car to a man making 10.00 an > hour it aint gonna work Well... if it takes 70 $ an hour to find people putting together cars in that area, then they'd better build the kind of cars you can sell to people who can and will afford them. Going by what the people at the Pulls know over here: The General - hands down - and then a BIG gap of nothing. There sure is something going on lately... and I have the feeling it starts to hurt the US economy. We use US made scatter blankets and needed them re certificated. So sent them out to SRP. After they still hadn't arrived about 10 days later, we checked the tracking number on the web. Result: Stuck in customs. Re: Sascha...Info Please !! Re: Violent SS explosion in Holland - 14 years ago
I wasn't there... Fact is, most of those violent SS engines exploding over here (as seen on Youtube) are all out of the same stable. Maximum Risk, European Maid, Terminator, Heart of the Eagle, .... There is a bunch of talk going on about those over here - but I stay out of that as it's already getting pretty dirty.... Here's a video of it: http://vimeo.com/4772037by Sascha - Forum
Re: Deutz 9006 (Deutzilla, Sasha and others) - 15 years ago
Friends of mine run a rather "simple" 9006 hot farm, and that one has a 912 Deutz engine in (short stroke). They simply put on a HX 40 Holset and an A-Pump that only feeds 280 ccs, no water, no intercooler. Runs good for what it is and has a surprisingly good low end tourque, which you wouldn't expect from a little engine like that. They are now working on a 913 engine with a stroker cby Sascha - Forum

Re: NTPA News: Hyper Blocks are Legal for '09 - 15 years ago
I might be stupid, but in my understanding a lot of boost BEFORE the (small) ports doesn't mean you get more filling into the cylinder than with big ports and less boost. The boost pressure has little to do with the cylinder pressure (that is generated by the amount of air in the cylinder and the compression of the engine)....by Sascha - Forum

About that SF discussion: I think an afforadable class with tractors that are not high maintenance is essential. But I have something for visualisation here, which brings me to the question, if the SF could not handle a little bigger turbo to put on a good show without breaking. In fact I saw some recent SF videos that had a good show. Must have been the guys by PPL rules. Anyhow - somethingby Sascha - Forum

Re: Light PS and Light SF - 15 years ago
Hi! While I not like the billet head idea (the 4 valves get decubing here) - I guess that is up to you folks to figure it out. What I would think would help to get it started, is to start it as one class under the rules of the "open" and by the time you have enough tractors, you can still split it on the higher levels. There is not much credit to take actually, as they are pretty useless... The one in that gallery linked above is a lot better (also fabricated - but different than in the dragsters) The last one we built was not a fabricated housing anymore - stated out as an Iveco and was then put on a drastic diet. If there is credit to give, then it belongs to the guys who first used one in Pulling - anby Sascha - Forum
