Re: Unl Mods - 1 year ago
hmm... Let's wind 40 years back when it all started: Our country folks got up at 5 am and went to bed at 9. Saturday was and still is a working day until noon. Then it was and still is mowing the lawn, washing the car, and getting ready for dinner. Then after dinner 3 hours of TV and off to bed. Sunday it's church until 11 am. So traditionally Pulls were on Sunday after church fromby Sascha - Forum
Re: Unl Mods - 1 year ago
That really depends. Füchtorf, where this was filmed, starts on Saturday 11 am with about 3 hours of garden pulling and then several hot farm classes, limited and 7 mod until about 8 pm. Then Saturday from 11 am to 6 pm with Super Sport, 55 Mod, Lim Super Stock, heavy Modifieds and Super Stocks. Most events are over two days with most of these classes (some add more farm stock classes and doby Sascha - Forum
Re: Unl Mods - 1 year ago
95% correct It used to be that those who got over 90m / 270 ft had the option for a second attempt. Since that led to difficulties in planning the number of hooks per class it's now one shot and top 5 to Pul Off. Crowd is happy, because they get a Pull Off and it's pretty clear how many runs there will be in the class. Having to run twice is a given that you know when you sign up andby Sascha - Forum

Color and variety - and... serious question to Americans - 1 year ago
Here's plenty of it Now , serious question. The first video are actually 550 cui, 2700 rpm limited Hot Farms. When I see videos of 3000 rpm limited classes in the US, they are... not even in the same league hp-wise. Is that because other classes offer more with open rpm? I mean - they're doing 2500 hp + at 550 cui and 2700 rpm here - because the only other option is to gby Sascha - Forum

Workshop tours on camera - 1 year ago
I've just spent the last week in Bella Italia and besides live streaming their events, got my camera and visited a few workshops: Started out at the Pelligrino family near Cuneo (that's kinda close to Monaco / Nizza). Then went on to visit a true gentleman and his daughter, who pull a semi with a huge Iveco engine: These are the first two videos of a series. I hope you lby Sascha - Forum
How America influenced the world of tractor pulling - 1 year ago
I am currently WAY down south in Italy, covering their circuit and there seriously is a tractor called "Stars and Stripes". That thing is a SERIOUS Pro Stock with no expenses spared: After covering the Pelligrino guys, I met one really class act in this sport. He's running a 1050 cui V8 4 turbo Semi puller They took me out for dinner after the video shot - and holy mother did I hby Sascha - Forum

Re: S'no Farmer - 1 year ago
Ok - that explains the lubrication part and makes sense now. We run an SQHD Humpco carrier in our rear in the triple Allison, but if I remember correctly, the ring & pinion is from another model and an Italian manufacturer (after we couldn't keep the SQHD gears in one piece in the early 2000s) and took totally different size bearings on the input shaft. So that might be a reason we'reby Sascha - Forum

Coming from a team that still wins Euro Cups against guys like Lambada and Boers (who for sure don't cheap out on their engine program) at 9000 lbs on Mitas tires and has no issue with its rear-end, despite not having pressure lubrication on the input shaft, since the last update of it in the early 2000s (which meant putting some quality ring and pinion gears in that were not made in US/Chinby Sascha - Forum

QuoteThe Original Michael the U.S. and Europe would have to do a lot of mutual compromising to ever agree on rules and class weights. I don't see that happening. Starts with the fact, that there are different legal systems (even within Europe). Here in Germany it's "fulfill safety standards, set by certified people".
