Re: Engine RPM Monitoring - 1 year ago
We're now running two magnets on the tractor and have our tech guy looking at the graph on a tablet during the run. Single magnet system gave out false readings in acceleration - and actually, people stepping on the clutch at the end of the run etc. gave peaks, too. This ended up in the monitoring system being given certain margins and that then turned into pullers trying to find out howby Sascha - Forum
Re: What do you think pulling will look like in 2030? - 1 year ago
The funny part about this is, we actually looked over across the pond to your side to see how you do it - and then tweaked it a little. We had the first real "drought" of tractors in the mid to late 90s. The first guys were starting to spend three times the yearly average wage on pulling tractors and most of the pioneers quit. First thing we did, was to enter the light modified class (beforeby Sascha - Forum

We don't have 70year olds doing our rules - that helps. Re: What do you think pulling will look like in 2030? - 1 year ago
Don't worry about fossil fuel. We have already changed the sport to non-fossil diesel in Germany and the first team has taken delivery of 250 gallons of synthetic (made from wind and Co2) methanol. We're almost CO2 neutral on the track and I have even gotten applause from the tree hugger side of people. We have the first 2023 pulls reporting being sold out already. Meritor - even though they do a lot of high-quality aftermarket stuff for the Rockewells down there and there is a lot of interchangeability between what is used in Iveco trucks and the Rockwell. I think most big modifieds in Europe run with Italian ring & pinions by now.by Sascha - Forum
Re: New non-tractor class, and safety issue - 1 year ago
My two cents: A tractor coming unhooked and even flipping over is nothing new. That's why there is a kill switch, roll cages and harnesses and why there should be barriers and sufficient distance between the track and the spectators. I watch a lot of motorcycle FIM Speedway - there are riders ending up in the hospital every week and nobody bats an eyelid, because it is THEIR choice. Wby Sascha - Forum
Re: Allison with Pro Chargers - 1 year ago
It is indeed that very same tractor. Jim Snell sold it to the guys in Italy after he kicked some rods out and had a flood in his workshop on top of that. Romano along with a few friends completely rebuilt everything and competed with the triple for a while. Unfortunately, after having turned it into a triple-turbo Allison they killed a few engines, too. On top of that Pulling in Italy went doby Sascha - Forum
Brilliant behind the scenes series - 1 year ago
There was a brilliant "behind the scenes" series filmed in England last season, that is available on Landpower TV, online. About 3 hours of very detailed explanations of everything that goes on at a tractor pull. How the sled works, how the measurements are taken, scrapers & track prep, etc. Brilliant piece of TV!by Sascha - Forum
Re: Radial engine modified - explained - 1 year ago
Hard to tell - by the time it came out, most of the top teams had left the 12 mod class as it was not run internationally anymore. It ran ok and there was nothing left in the class, that could touch it. There is a titanium crankshaft available for that engine, which would have made it possible to get the tractor into the 9900 lbs and with a better ignition system it would have become really intby Sascha - Forum

Oh - thank you! REALLY appreciated! If you really want to follow: is where I put all the videos first and also where the live streams from here go on. Some are PPV, as the promoters don't want people to watch for free, but I always try to keep the prices reasonable, as watching on your TV is not the same as going there and I think to have a fan base, the fans need to be able to follow tby Sascha - Forum

Re: Controversial tractors in pulling history - 1 year ago
haha - yeah - I remember the discussion over on Fonda's message board with Larry Richwine, telling him the triple V8s and twin V12 run at 5500 lbs here and he basically told me, it's not possible and they'll make it 6000 lbs in the US and it will be twin-engine V8 tractors.by Sascha - Forum

Re: Universal Pulling Channel? - 1 year ago
Quoteavercusauto So here is my question/idea. Is it possible to have a universal pullling streaming app? Technically this is possible. In real life that probably won't happen, as there are many associations competing with each other. It's like trying to create a season ticket valid for several associations. Quoteavercusauto An app that organization could buy into as they wish. Soby Sascha - Forum

#3 we're working on that within our means: www.wwptv.plus - with the workshop visits. We only charge for live streams if the promotors don't want their shows out for free. Re: Mitas 24.5 not ntpa legal now - 1 year ago
The problem there is, the Mitas comes as a "slick" and the circumference rule is "uncut". So it's impossible to get a cut Mitas tire through tech as nobody knows, what size it was before cutting. Europe will happily take them back, We have such a high demand for 24.5s in classes where bigger tires are allowed (coming from AG radials that work better until a certain power level), it'by Sascha - Forum

If I may throw in my 5 cents: Has nobody of you ever heard of synthetic fuels? We have very little to worry: Check this. ). These e-fuels are supposed to power planes, AG equipment, and overland trucks in the future - well - and Formula 1 pretty soon. There are "fuel plants" here producing these synthetic E-fuels already on a smaller scale. This is all based on Hydrogen production (ourby Sascha - Forum

Re: Zwolle Netherlands pull - 1 year ago
There is nothing planned at the moment. The only indoor pulls I am aware of this winter would be Riesa and Etten-Leur. Riesa is way over in East Germany where there are no local teams, the track had some issues because the Moto X guys found the material too grippy and mixed a lot of sand in when they used it (without asking) for one of their events and they struggle a bit with the fact the insurby Sascha - Forum
