Web Show - 1 year ago
We've got our first episode of "Floating Finish" done - a web show targeted at the German speaking parts of the world. If you switch on the subtitles (the little text icon) and change them to English (on the gear icon), it is more or less possible to understand what it is all about:by Sascha - Forum
Re: Single Port water injection - 1 year ago
As long as you can get it all vaporized and use the latent heat (google the definition of this term) of the water, it helps to lower inlet temperatures and egts. This depends on your nozzle, the amount of water you add, and the inlet temperature you have (which then depends on your turbo efficiency, inlet ports, camshaft, ....). If some of it enters the cylinders in liquid form (and if it staysby Sascha - Forum

Re: Single Port water injection - 1 year ago
It is not a very good idea because: Water is heavier than air and will be "thrown" to the last cylinder, which then gets great knock protection / cooling - which others won't. Water injection in front of the turbo will help with temperatures and efficiency of the turbo - but that doesn't take a lot. After the turbo, individual port nozzles is the way to go. this explains it prettyby Sascha - Forum

Ah - cool! The new owners are friends of mine. Their other IH, 1246, came from my neck of the woods (rpm limited / 360 cui hot farm). Good folks - they've been here twice and we went there in 2018 (?). Quite an experience and loooooong ways from home - when you are on the third flight and they need to stop for fuel... Re: Question to the fans about live streaming - 1 year ago
Totally agree! "Putting faces to the names" is a major plan for this season. I have visited a few teams in Italy last year and I will continue to do so in Germany. Trouble is, those videos are easily 4 - 6 hours of work and then the viewing numbers are "only in the thousands" - which is good in general but not good enough to create more than a few $ on YT - it doesn't even pay for the fueby Sascha - Forum

Well - I am not only the owner of a pulling tractor and do live streams, but also a hardcore follower of motorcycle speedway ( a sport many of you probably haven't heard about). That enables me to see the "fan's point of view". Speedway has built a MASSIVE following around the world and I know how they've made their way from small events into stadiums and into social media (They pby Sascha - Forum

Re: Question to the fans about live streaming - 1 year ago
"Dont make everyone set up an account with some flyby night website" The problem here is, the technology and bandwidth to broadcast the streams to the individual people watching takes ... Amazon / Google / FB... level servers. This is nothing, even all pulling associations on the planet combined could afford. There are companies renting server space and bandwidth, and run their streaming sofby Sascha - Forum
Re: Question to the fans about live streaming - 1 year ago
Do you mean how to actually stream an event, or watch a stream? Watching is pretty simple. Nevertheless, I can show you how both is done. As for Internet access - ever looked into starlink? That's what I partly use to get my signal out "of the woods".by Sascha - Forum

Thank you for your input! The point of "not paying for a subscription" was discussed here, too, and looking from my own point of view, I am of the exact same opinion as you. Comments are welcome! We're doing this for YOU (at least I do) and to help the sport. TV is dying a rapid death and the battle is on for viewers online. If we don't get this done right, the sport will have even more problems in the future.by Sascha - Forum
Question to the fans about live streaming - 1 year ago
Question(s): As many of you know, I started to live-stream events last year. I have learned a lot in the past 12 months and spent enough money on this by now, that I could have bought myself a nice new car (or two more V8s) instead. We went from crappy 720P to full HD, added slow motions and ran multi-camera angles. Next year, we will add commentary, where possible, have live interviews in the piby Sascha - Forum
Re: Fendt Prostock - 1 year ago
Fendt never had Deere engines. Renault did and those were now phased out for Ivecos. Fendt had MWM in the past, then Deutz and MAN and I think since they are with Agco it is Sisu (like Valtra) in the smaller and still MAN in the bigger models. Anything over 427 cui used in Fendts is either too big (11.407 cm out of the 622 - 626 series) or "too much technology". If you want to see a Fendtby Sascha - Forum

Pulling promoters have soooo much to learn, it's not even funny. And I am saying that after having been involved in a pull that went from 8k to 25k spectators in the time I was involved - and kept hearing about my "stupid ideas" - that in the end worked out. I have spent the last few years getting engaged with another motorsport, that is "pro level" and got in very good contact with "real"by Sascha - Forum
Re: NFMS Stream. - 1 year ago
There was a pretty interesting webinar at the Motorsports Expo about "why Live Stream?" What the pros said was pretty clear: The people can watch lots of exciting motorsports for free or very cheap money every weekend The people who watch the streams are those, who come to your events The point is: If you are not accessible after they've come to one of your shows, others, who are acceby Sascha - Forum

Those are Rolls Royce / Rover Meteor engines. Basically Merlins, that after the war were redesigned to N/A engines with milder cams to be used in Centurion tanks. Early versions had RR internals, later the manufacturing was given to Rover who did a few changes (worse on quality, better on valve train, last versions fuel injected. No - they are so rare... We had one Swiss team with an Hispano Suiza V12 in the 80s, still have one tractor with a Merlin, several with Meteors, Pratt & Whittney and Curtiss Wright radials, Zvesda and Transmash V12s, ... You've nailed it! The reason why the Green Monsters are not running turbos (they absolutely could with the EFU set up they have now) is plain and simple: Weight. The homemade superchargers are just way lighter than turbos. We had two big choo choos in the shop, put them on a scale and sold them.by Sascha - Forum

The reason they never really caught on in the states was, they were never used in military/commercial there, while in the UK they were used to power late Spitfires, Shackleton bombers, Hoover crafts, and in some odd military supply service until the mid-80s ( I remember my friend taking a distributer apart that had a 1981 overhaul mark in it). Re: Engine RPM Monitoring - 1 year ago
We're now running two magnets on the tractor and have our tech guy looking at the graph on a tablet during the run. Single magnet system gave out false readings in acceleration - and actually, people stepping on the clutch at the end of the run etc. gave peaks, too. This ended up in the monitoring system being given certain margins and that then turned into pullers trying to find out howby Sascha - Forum
Re: What do you think pulling will look like in 2030? - 1 year ago
The funny part about this is, we actually looked over across the pond to your side to see how you do it - and then tweaked it a little. We had the first real "drought" of tractors in the mid to late 90s. The first guys were starting to spend three times the yearly average wage on pulling tractors and most of the pioneers quit. First thing we did, was to enter the light modified class (beforeby Sascha - Forum
