MH49,
They've already cut back the mod limitations for that reason.

The way I see the business of voting out your representatives. Most voters think its the other guy's representative not their representative. Their representative gets stuff for their district (you know that nasty pork that they add to these bills that they pass) and people love them for it but hate it when other representatives do it for their districts. Its a never ending cycle that kee

T.A.P. I truly believe that if you subtract the pandemic out of the Trump era you would see something totally different. The pandemic shut down an economy that was well above anything we had seen in many years.

With the Biden administration coming to power today one of his first moves is said to be to cancel the permits for the XL pipeline. I'm sure there will be many more Obama like restrictions placed on the oil and gas industries. How long will it be before we are up to $3 or $4 gas again? If there is anything that will help kill an economy that is already reeling it is high gas prices as well

Interesting read, I'm just a dumb farm boy and have been saying that for months. I will wear the mask if it makes other people feel better, I just hate seeing folks hard earned businesses being ruined all while the big box stores are thriving. I've never been able to understand why we can go in there and not a local store, makes me furious.

Pllfn if mask work California should be getting all better by now because they have been as strict as anyone in the states yet they are suffering the worst right now. They get checked on occasion, we run three with 14-71s so we have have no limits so they don't have to check ours. When they changed the overdrive rules and we were running 8-71s I requested that they check mine.

At the RN level the restrictions on the Allison's and Turbines were lessened in just the last few years. The Bollinger tractor is the only Allison tractor that meets the maximum allowed restrictions that I'm aware of and it is very competitive with the twin Hemi tractors. Don Deane was also allowed more HP and did step up for a short time until one of his bigger engines broke. Don has

The three things that are improved tremendously over the years are heads, blowers and tires. These three things combined have changed the way mod tractors have to be designed from the standpoint of weight distribution. Just looking at when the puller 2000 tire came out pullers were having to scramble to get more front end weight. Add in better engine technology as well as the big improvements

They may go after the black smoke but in reality the hauling of the pullers to and from the events is likely more of an issue than the few seconds a tractor goes down the track.

The NFMS actually scaled back their mod class from the PPL rules to the NTPA rules because they felt they were getting out of hand and too powerful for the indoor track. To answer someone elses question, no one runs Unlimited Mods indoors.

I am old enough have witnessed the progression from the step on sleds (in grade school I was one of those people that stepped on a garden tractor sled) to the modern day high speed sleds both as a puller and as a fan/spectator.
As a fan/spectator to me there is no comparison. Don't get we wrong, back in the mid 70s I thought pulling was awesome but when I watch old videos now they look

My experience was almost the opposite of what you are talking about. My family was into showing Quarter Horses and we were just like pullers in that we were at a different county fair every week all summer long. Every so often the pulls would be happening on the other side of the grounds and I would sneak off between classes to watch the tractor pulls, Dad could care less. Even after I started

For me it gives a chance make sure everything feels like it should, make sure the trans will go into all gears and also warms engines a little more as we rev them a more to get the movement we want.

So,
Two things, first NTPA will adapt any class they see fit it shouldn't real matter to those that don't want to run with them. Second no one is making anyone run with NTPA or for that matter making anyone run a component if NTPA were to adopt them.

I think a point that needs to be made is that during the NTPA Mod meetings there was a lot of discussion about the limits for Lt. Unlimited class. At the end of all of the discussion it was decided by the NTPA board that the blower rules would remain the way they were written.
A few of the tractors that run the class were upgraded with bigger blowers at substantial expense. This is very s

As far as the RN class yes there are more diverse tractors in the region but the ones that would step up to the GN class are pretty much all twin Hemi tractors.

I think your idea would get, tremendous support on the pullers (RN) side but likley not so much on the political side of the argument.
Most that don't like the idea will say that this class at BG would just be a watered down 7500 mod class and would not deserve to be at BG. I would say that the big difference would be in the numbers, it would very likely have big numbers and would help t

That is all well and good and I agree but from the way things played out at this event I'm guessing that this sled didn't have even what is the most basic safety features working let alone would they have installed these types of monitors.

Competitor in pulling,
I agree 100%, that is why it is so important that the starting line flagman watch that the box is moving and that the finish flagman watch him for his red flag in case it doesn't. Being a track official should be more than just giving a green flag to start a vehicle and a red flag when they spin in. I've never been to tech school but I'm guessing that ther

At NTPA events sleds are inspected at every event. Competition vehicles have certain safety things that get looked at every night. The sleds are no different, the tech officials are required to check certain safty functions at every event. I do believe that they do a more thorough inspection preseason.
Two things that should have happened, the starting flagman should watch the box to make s

We sell Penn Grade 1 oil to several pullers both diesel and alcohol. Most that run water tell me that they change their oil at 4 to 6 passes due to water dilution. Most that run alcohol are very similar depending on how much they idle. Some tell me that the turbo charged alcohol engines seem to dilute the oil with alcohol more during idling and building boost than going down the track. I do

It does happen on occasion but not very often. I know Bob Jostock did it at Georgetown one year on a bad track. He said he had his 5 motor gear with four engines then shut one of those off. I think Bill Vories said once that he shut an engine off after leaving the line after realizing the tractor was over powering the track.

I'm not sure how this event was handled but the even in Wilmington was all preregistration. My guess is that this event was the same and we all know that our plans don't always work the way we want. I just speculating here but could it be that people preregistered a week ahead then just weren't ready by show time?

One of the worst we had and a can't remember the name,it was Farm--- and no it wasn't Farmall. It looked like a very large David Brown, had about 100 HP. It had the most unhandy controls I'd ever seen on a tractor. We likley had about 50 hours on it when I had to replace the head gasket and it was down hill from there. It didn't hang around long.
