I'm just curious, how will having pulloffs save state pulling?

They were there, I talk to one of the crew members at The Fort just before they left for Tiffin. He said that they were having ignition issues with the tractor so that could be why they didn't run. I'm not sure where OSTPA stands on letting a radial engine run with them, NTPA just opened up the option for the radial's to run in the last couple of years.

I like the LLSS and was the one who made the motion to include them in the HSTPA but how can you expect the NTPA to let them run without the proper safty protocols being followed!? Was NTPA supposed to tell their insurance carrier to pound sand?
I understand that the LLSS class is well established in certain areas and those people have no desire or reason to travel especially if they are runn

Yeah January 6th happened but so did rioting, burning and looting month after month with very little if any repercussions for those participants. The were a lot more deaths involved during all of this unrest than anything that happened on January 6th. Both were wrong but only one is being delt with why do you suppose that is???

We are looking forward to Saturday night at The Fort for all of the usual reasons, it's history, the great hospitality, lots of great pulling and a unique venue. This year will have another interesting twist for Tarry and me as we have invited Bill Voreis to drive the Feissty Farmer during the Saturday evening session. This tractor is the same chassis that Bill drove to numerous GN titles i

I just saw where the hearings are starting about the "insurrection ". Isn't it convenient that the Republicans on the committee are Trump haters, can't imagine how that could happen with Nancy in charge!!! What a total shame and joke the congress is, things were going to be "bipartisan " under Ol Uncle Joe! LOL

I just read a story two days ago that in England 3000 people were in the hospital with COVID-19 and that 60% of them were fully vaccinated. Kinda makes one wonder about the stories we hear about the effectiveness of these vaccines.

2nd puller,
So in other words just keep changing the rules to rotate the winner so everyone's happy...a trophy for every participant!!! People who sandbag so the rules don't hurt them aren't competitors they are pretenders. BTW people who can get their engines to work better than others in the class have an edge, your formula keeps taking away the edge that people work hard for ju

Doubledose,
Hemi's are not immune to these problems either, we had two broken mains in one of our engines after the 2019 pulling season. I suppose any high preformance engines are going to break. What is the solution with Chevy style engines, less overdrive, less RPM? Just curious to what might help.

I thought the 500 lbs was a good compromise that would have allowed the 14-71 tractors to be competitive and not punish the people that had spent the money on big blowers. An idea that was brought up was to have a sticker on the back of your tractor saying what the weight should be for the class, the person at the scale could then look at the sticker to monitor the weight. OSTPA used to do that

Averscusauto,
Towards the end of the 2018 we were asked if we would be willing to run the Lt Unlimited class at Hudsonville,Mi with 500 extra pounds on our tractors and take the last two money spots regardless or where we actually placed. We agreed to do that as a way to try to even up the 14-71 tractors with the bigger blowers. It worked out pretty well as we were competitive even winning by a

Patches,
I truly believe that there are twin Allison's and triple Chevy's that can be very competitive (Raptor & Top Gun).

When they were running the Double Stuff they were fighting weight all the time. I believe hey had a hard time making weight as well as being front heavy on a lot of tracks.

We all hear all day long what needs changed but we still have to build within our so called archaic rules. We hear about handicapping all the time, how about two against three, isn't that a bit of a handicap for us Hemi pullers? Wedge engines at 70% overdrive Hemi's at 37% that's a bit of a handicap wouldn't you say?

So let's say you have the money to do it in your pocket and wanted to put together a Mod tractor. What would you build? What engines, chassis, configuration and tires would you go with and why? Would you build to try and run several different Mod classes or specifically for just one class? Would you build to be at the top of the class, if so how do you avoid the so called "Cookie Cutter"

Not that it really matters but we have done both RN2 and GN Mod/GN Lt Unlimited as well as GN 2WD and RN2 2WD and traveled very close to the same number of miles. The difference is with the GN it is was further but mostly weekends whereas the RN is a lot more events that are closer but a lot of week day events. A lot of GN events were four day weekends for us because I don't drive all night

So we just came back from an RN hook in Arcola. There was one mod with Ford's, five tractors with Chevy's, one tractor with Turbine's and five tractors with Hemi's. Yes Hemi's won both nights but a three engine Chevy tractor was right there in the mix the second night. The Hemi's that did well are two engines against three wedge style. The three Hemi tractors hav

We have had haulers with Cat, Cummins,Detroit and Mercedes. The Mercedes was about the best on fuel mileage but the least on lugging power and the engine brake is next to useless.

In the mod committee meetings this stuff has been discussed at length and the powers that be have mentioned several times that there was a light mod class on the books and that was why they insisted on the Unlimited title and rules. Their feeling was that it would be a glorified RN class with lesser blower rules. Some of us argued that with 14-71 limits tractors could easily jump to other class

Dear Questioner,
I have been one having to change the overdrive on my blowers twice ( because the Hemi's were winning too much) since I've been pulling NTPA. Was it a big deal...no I simply changed my bottom blower pulley changed a fuel pill and went pulling. Boyd's have tested every combination of engine components that you can imagine so trust me when I say that for Shannon

It's not my place to say where it was but I will say that this promoter has held probably 20 national events at this track and knows his dirt and runs a great event. I don't really know about the TV or streaming.

I have been to a LOT of pulls over the years both as a spectator and as a competitor and don't ever recall a close pit area, some you had to pay extra to get into the pits but never closed.

I know for a fact that a promoter wanted to put more water into his track and was told no by PPL personnel. This is a guy that has run an event at this track for many years and knows what the dirt needs to be a good track. That evening the mods were billowing dirt to the point that the drivers were hitting their kill switches as they were spinning in to try to keep the dirt out of their engine

One thing that comes to mind when comparing the two major organizations for me is the simple fact that Lucas could pull the plug at any moment. For those that say "oh no he would never do that", I say this to that; my wife's cousin ran an off road series for Lucas for many years in California. Granted it was a smaller series like some of our state pulling organizations but my point is th

Greg K,
You won't see much of it, likley BG will be the only other Lt. Unlimited hook for us. We wanted to get a pass in before the RN hooks start for us. It's a good thing we did as I had an issue with my right engine. We had a call asking if we would support the new event so it worked out for all I suppose. Tarry placed pretty well considering our lack of big blowers.

The Bollinger's and Diekman (when he last ran) are quite capable of being competitive in the RN Mod class so the ability to make, the Allison's run with the V8 tractors is there at least at the RN level. One year several years ago our tractors were only beaten 3 times in RN competition and it was the Rat Poison tractor that did it. When we ran the Lt. Unlimited class on a good track R
