I pull a light super in Illinois. If I went to an indoor pull as a spectator, it would probably be the twd truck class first as long as that class was not the last class that pulled. 2nd to that would be mini rods and 3rd would be 4x4's. Reason being is that none of them look the same at an indoor pull. At an outdoor pull to me it doesn't matter as I would stay for the whole show as a s

Not even close to the same thing. Use your cherry picker to pick the cinder block from the ground vs from a table. It's not going to know the difference & you could demonstrate that with a fish scale between the block and the cherry picker.
Ok but what's the BACK of the cherry picker hooked to in your scenario?

Billet heads and component chassis is completely unnecessary for Light Limited Super. It's not only unnecessary but I think it will hurt the class. There are ton's and tons of OEM options and combinations out there that can be built to be competitive, why mess with it?
I think I said that same thing about the light superstock class 15 years ago but what would I kn

To answer your ? It's not what I would like to see but what I get tired of seeing. Way too much wasted time working tracks in between hooks and never starting on time. This might just be a here thing.

Supertiquer,
1)I would like to see in the top level classes 10 to 12, even 15 competitive vehicles. Like in MOD, SSD, SSO. We don't always have those #'s in UNL although past 2-4 years, there #'s are usually pretty good.

Supertiquer you seem to get around the country a lot trucking so what would you like to see ? More big rigs ?
I do? You have me mixed up with some one else. I am just a peasant that has been at pulling for 30+ years in one state that I farm small in. I trucked for 2 years with a tandem in the mid 80's hauling seed corn and that was it.

I have Puller mags from 1980 that show NTPA member states, and there were more than NTPA and PPL combined today. Why did so many state choose to go elsewhere around 1998ish? Why did sponsors like Wrangler choose to not be involved? Why has NTPA not started their own new orgs in states where the former one went PPL or independent?
HUH? what did I say on July 17t

Go back to when NTPA started the superstock class and that will tell you what a superstock is!

What is a Super Stock tractor? How do we define it?
If we can agree on the definition, the rule making should in theory become less complicated.

NHRA shortened the length of the track for the nitro classes after Scott Kalitta was killed in Englishtown in 2008 in an effort to show the cars, which are now going as fast in 1000 feet now as in the full quarter mile then.
If the shut down area and sand trap were longer at Englishtown, Scott Kalitta MIGHT still be with us today. But no one from NHRA wanted to

Didn't Adam Vaske say that he had less money in turbo's on his super stock diesel than a "built to the rules" super farm's turbo?
I don't know where he said that but if he did, it wouldn't surprise me any. Maybe he is actually taking care of them himself instead of just sending them off to have some one else work on them.

New classes with limits often give the impression that good limits can keep pulling "cheaper". Most new classes are started with an eye on budgets. After a year, or a few, rules are tweaked, often to allow the class to "progress" or grow. Say for example that a diesel class is started that does not allow water injection. That limit would help curb costs, in that engines could n

Side Note: If you could devise a mechanical system that could react fast enough it would be 100% legal according to almost all rule books.
My mechanical system is my hand and my feet and I believe that is 100% legal. And I may not be able to drive as well as others, but I refuse to let a computer do it for me.

All this talk about Traction control needs to go away. It will not move the sport forward. There needs to be solutions to keep it away from pulling by finding a way to stop it. Traction control is for people that are good at spending money and not for people that have grown the sport through dedication. Who ever put this proposal in cant compete and wants to take the easy road. Ther
