Herein lies one of the problems with the sport. The flip side is the reason NTPA was formed was to have unified rules across the country. What you called dictating could be viewed as overruling local opinions in order to have unified rules for the greater good (unless you are referring to things other than safety and class rules).
I am referring to everythin

I wish some kind of universal organization could be done. Within 50 miles or less radius I can encounter at least 7 different organizations. All with their own different rules and wanting their dues to come pull with them. I understand why they need the dues. Mostly insurance. But if they could get together on the insurance thing could we save a bunch of money? And a common setbof ru

Manual traction control is all thats needed clutch, brakes, and throttle
I agree with that 200%. But then, there will be some that say we are "holding back" the progression of the sport. And to those that say that I will say LEARN HOW TO DRIVE!

I think there would be quite a few tractors found to not be exactly legal if the rules were actually enforced. Not just the super farm class either
Amen, and another problem is the ones that WANT to enforce the rules will be looked at as mule holes for doing their job. At least on this forum.
I am sure I am going to get another thumbs down on my response from someone, but th

I am pretty sure nhra events are insured and they run nitromethane
I am PRETTY SURE that you are right but I am also PRETTY SURE that NHRA does not allow nitromethane and diesel fuel mixed together.

So what happens when guys start running 70% Nitro-methane and 30% Diesel? Is that OK? I'm not going to be anywhere near a track when those guys run down the track! .

While I understand the point you are trying to make, I strongly disagree that it is the sole reason that has reduced the number of vehicles in any given class.
I would say that is more a product of high $$ engine/turbo budgets, dyno time, and technology. None of those things are bad, but put them all together with a person that has alot of money and you will have trouble competi

I am not condemning them at all. But look what has happened to the numbers in the classes over the years that has them. If it's allowed, I am afraid that same thing will happen.
If some one wants to go component, why don't they just build a pro or super and help numbers in those classes?

Bryan, heck I don't know where that spec is. But any leg that has a titanium knee should be allowed. Titanium is stronger and lighter so something probably needs to be done with weight in order to make it fair for those that don't have one or 2. I myself am waiting on a carbon fiber toe. Both titanium and carbon fiber are probably safer than a bone in my opinion as I have never seen eit

I knocked some ends down about 3 weeks ago in preparation to put pre plant herbicide on. Some NH3 went on at the same time in my area. It was dry and worked like a garden. After that we had 3 inches of rain and about 6 inches of snow. So nothing has been done since. I might try to put some Acuron on tomorrow late depending on wind. I went down that road in the light superstock class on alcohol with a 301 and 2 dinky turbos a few years ago. I was protested incognito by pullers that had bigger motors and turbos.
