To original poster, if you don't mind me asking, where in Central IL would this be?
Depending on what you want to spend and how many classes you want I think ITPA puts on the best "show".
I am biased, I pull with them. I would think with 2 mid level classes and 2 premium classes would be a good start.
6850 PF, 9500 PF, 8500 LmPro, and 9500 Lim pro be an excellent show.....again

I came across JD skidder 648 rear end. I know years ago they used them in modified tractors & some trucks.
Would it work on a single blown engine modified in a 5500 to 5800 class?
How heavy are they?
Do they have internal brakes or would you have to mount external brakes?
How much HP can they handle?
Any other info you can share would be appreciated.

Engler Machine is close to my area, so I went with his kit a few years ago. The next closest to me is Ace Chassis. Then the next closest is Haslag Steel. ALL will treat you right. They are all busy so you may have to wait a while. I'd be getting one ordered now if you want one for next year.

Where did anyone get the idea that ITPA thought they had the "prestige"? Just asking. If I am arrogant by being a member of ITPA and pulling with them, then just tell me. I have disagreed with ITPA on some of their rules and they know that. But I am a member. I am also a member of Illini State Pullers and have disagre

I however don’t think there is a liability issue? Any random person can go and pull a tractor for the first time. Don’t see how this would be any different.
If he is wanting to start a business, there will be a liability issue. There's always a liability issue even when paid members of an organization are pulling. That's why we paid members have insurance through our

Another thought. Think about how you would handle customers and rained out events. Say customer X one week is signed up and customer Y for the next and so on and so forth. Customer x's week gets rained out and then misses the opportunity because the following week is customer y's week and there's no rain in sight? You'd have to have an agreement with customer x of some sort i

That’s a great idea just have to figure out how to get it into the trailer. I’m guessing have to look into insurance as well. That could be a big factor. This would probably work best for a mod vs a diesel

The ITPA lost the McLean County Fair in Bloomington, IL to the IPA ... the David Lashmett Memorial Pull in Winchester, IL. Wasn't the Winchester pull previously an IPA event?

Being a current member of ITPA, I don't see them having a hard time. Most of the members told ITPA to keep our dues from last year even though we didn't get to pull. Did the IPA members do that? Just asking.

When classes get that big, the only true way to get your "champion" is to have heats. Bring back your top 10 from each heat for your finals or "B" main if you have too.
There is 98 entries in the Knoxville Nationals this week for 1 class. They don't run all 98 in the feature on Saturday night
Is this practical? Sometimes, the promoters will need to plan for this ahead of ti
