I prefer what ITPA has done for DECADES if they still do it. First pull everyone is weighed and teched... If you can't make first pull you make arrangements to get a certified tractor go to a scale and do it. Then throughout the season you use the protest rules. Pretty easy and straightforward. Brush pulls your on your own. Still use elevator scales a lot.
They still do it

Clark that was a LONG LONG time ago now.. I was thinking ITPA cutting ties was more of a financial thing than a rules thing? I was pretty young then. Lol We had the most pulls of any of the member states by a lot. Was a lot nicer state to Live in back then.
It was actually BOTH Lenny. It was a financial thing to a "point". I was also young then also but older than you then and s

What I am getting here is this. Some one has it in for NTPA and/or the Ocala pull. I say that because of the last two posts that were started about the pull. Now, I am nothing but a state puller as you and many others well know. Our state is no longer a member state of NTPA and has not been for quite some time but that doesn't mean we HATE them at ALL. Most of us in our state gave NTPA a thu

I just hope the promoter of the April Florida pull doesn't see all this whining and complaining and drama and cancel the LLSS class, or the whole pull.
This thread reminds me of a bunch of 6th grade girls.
What promoter would put up with this B.S. ???

I hear you and I am not taking sides, but locals want to see locals pull.
And if you upset a promoter and his local fans, the organization may not be back the following year either. I am not saying that makes what happened right but these things do happen. And if the organization is not back the following year, who is to say that the next organization even offers the class in question?

No I really can't agree with it being a dumb post. I say that because I was involved with a pull 12 years ago(non sanctioned) where that very same thing happened. A class was advertised at 10,000 lbs. and at the pull it was changed to 11,000. I had a puller come up to me as I was the tech

Wow. Some people here really think they have it figured out.
The cable did exactly what it’s supposed to…..it redirected the force of the explosion by making the block “fly” forward and away from the driver and most obstructions. The cable will almost certainly have fractured. How are you expecting a cable to contain an explosion of this magnitude? Obviously you have a h

Supertiquer - thanks.
If it came right down to it, I really don't think alcohol-converted diesel pickups would be a bad show at all.
The technical challenge would be a lot of fun, if you can afford it. Follow in the path of the tractors. As usual, LOL.

One route to the possible demise of diesel pulling (especially trucks with VINs) is the EPA.
Let's face it, any diesel making enough power to win its class is going to be rolling coal during some or all of the hook. It's unavoidable if you have to use restricted turbos to keep classes somewhat even. Nitrous would help clean some of it up, but everyone knows the fue

So if I want to go down south and pull my tractor, I need to ask the organization putting on the pull what the rules and the weight are. Then I make the changes, make the weight, or stay home. For instance. if I go pull badger state, I already know I need 24.5 tires and a smooth turbo, and add 250 lbs. No big deal. If I want to pull in Kentucky or with the southern fellows, then I

My guess would be that some one would fill pullers x,y and z's place. And if that doesn't set well with the majority of the fans that want pullers x,y and z there then maybe that majority should take that up

I love how this post is full of non super farm pullers. There is only 24 people this affects. I do not see why the NFMS changed the turbo. You should run what you compete with all season. If you were going to change turbos why not go with something common? like a 3x3.5 like the PPL hotfarm run. but there again I dont see why change anything. I think the committee needs

No. I did strikethrough the supposition that kids died in the classroom. I hate that kids even know what an ALICE protocol is, but they nailed it and saved lives.
Everyone here is free to have their say. That is one of the principles this country is founded on, even if it means giving a platform to people that don't deserve it.

I would recommend checking with DOT from your state on what allowed. The pin maybe safe and easy but if it doesn't meet the State's requirements for load containment you could be fine or put out of service. My state requires 4 separate points of securement each chain or strap must be rated for more that 1/4 of weight of load.
