There's been a push for a mod class in itpa that would mimic outlaw rules essentially. Sounds like it's going to happen.

It's a great class to get started in but far from cheap at this point. To be competitive in itpa, you're looking at 5k plus chargers now, and as stated recast heads etc.

Love the old videos! Curious if there are any older mod videos not yet posted from the 80s-early90s? I know there's many uploaded on there from various accounts but not all sessions unfortunately.

Yellow Fever was fuel injected, Nolan had it perfected as much as anyone could for the time period. It did run on gas as a prostock. In recent years as it was rehabbed its been run on alcohol to move around and start etc. That was my mix up.

Nolan had "misfire #1" which was a red g1000 on propane. Then build yellow fever which started life as a super stock running various turbo settups, from twins, triples, and twin compound settup (a set on the front 3 and back 3 cylinders). Then switched to prostock.
DeClerck drove a g1000 vista "power without smoke" which is probably the tractor you're thinking of.

I've always been under the impression it had alot to do with prostock becoming diesel only.

Before Don Nolan quit pulling in the late 80s, he put the hurting on many a diesel prostock with his g1000 on alcohol.

As far as the mod rules go,why did Louisville change the overdrive rules to 45% for everyone, 4 hemi with 871 will dominate the class over 3 hemi with 14 71 and 4 chevys with 871 need 70% or more
Don't be so sure. You're forgetting about weight. Look what Steve Bollinger has done in unlimited this past season by having movable weight only running 3 engines. And all these gu

As a young puller, I've always wondered what killed gas tractors in the prostock class. Was it outlawed? Was there anyone else running a gas or propane tractor in prostock besides Don Nolan. No one will deny how competitive Don Nolan was with Yellow Fever. I have some great stories of Don, as he and my great grandfather were very close friends.

Make it simple! A single engine class would be perfect. An allison will struggle against 2 good hemis. Plus limiting to a single engine eliminates need for a gearbox.

Not advocating for components in all classes, but how many component chassis have you seen break like this? It's more a question of do some of these old ag chassis need retired at a certain point?
