It's not the nickel rod that causes the cracking. I recommend using the very short beads and peeing as you spoke of with the use of nickel rods. To properly weld with the preheat method, you would need to place in oven and preheat till cast is glowing red then remove from oven and weld. Then place back in oven to allow manifold to cool very slowly. After cooled, most likely you will have to

That's funny stuff! Glad to get a laugh from this post! Fun memories while at a tractor pull event. We have plenty good times to cherish as well. We stayed at a hotel in Champaign where the bed was short and my feet hung over the end of the bed. That's why we do what we do with family and friends, have a good time, all this while a tractor pull is going on in the back ground. Good tim

Brian , it all goes back to common courtesy and the Golden rule. Just like most of us were taught when we were young. If you can't say something nice about someone, you shouldn't say anything at all. Moral of the story, If you are ashamed to put your real name with your post, you probably shouldn't post what you are saying.
Let's all enjoy what the promoters are doing and go

If it were up to me, I would not be part of such a group where you had to cater to only one supplier of parts. For one it is the formation of a monopoly of parts. 2, you may as well just say you have to buy your pumps, tires, heads, fuel, water, gears, injectors, and any other performance parts from the same folks! Why not just say we all have to run the same brand of tractor? Really guys! What

Just wanted to address a few items mentioned in recent posts.
First off to Kilroy, The NTPA LPS class does not appear to have dwindling numbers that I can see. If they should, this is a normal thing that happens in most motorsports I know of. I have witnessed this personally at many different levels over the past 44 years I've been pulling. It has happened in many classes with Many Rules, a

Greetings all, After over 1 month of opinions and ideas, I see where one of the most important parts of our sport of tractor pulling is being forgotten. Most of the opinions I believe come from pullers at some level or another, most opinions center on our own selfish desires for what we think this class should be. It appears most of the opinions center around 1 tractor or another dominating the N

Greetings Lewis, I do not know of anyone or any group screwing anything up for anyone. No one is forcing anyone to join or compete in any class at any level that I am aware of. People have the choice to choose the level and class that they desire to compete in. I'm not going to repeat myself, I will refer you to the 2nd post in this thread. It basically says what you are saying about the cla

No worries Sooo, I'm glad some people are seeing what I'm trying to say. I just see so many posts making claims this or that needs changed, or the "cost to build is way out of control ", so many other things, hitch height, turbos and pumps are too big, the list goes on and on. No doubt this, and many other things we do in life are very costly. However, one man's perception of cost

I hope that Soooo is not speaking to me. Ole rw is not for changing anything with the rules, unless it's for some good safety reason. Most all tractors pulling in sactioned organizations, meet the safety requirements of the organization that they are pulling with. I'm all about leaving the class rules alone, let everyone that chooses and can afford to build one, build their tractor acco

This classes growth was no accident. It took off and has grown to what it is for some reason. I agree with jdhpuller, let it be, and enjoy it as it is. Definitely one of the more exciting classes to watch and compete in.
As spoken before classes will come and go, classes will be successful and some will fail, but I'm certain we will always have some form of tractor pulling for many years to

Now here's a man, gpopper, speaking words of wisdom. This is what I've been talking about in my previous posts.
Have fun and play within your means. Tractor pulling and all other things in life will come full circle eventually.
As long as we have agriculture in our country, tractor pulling will endure. It will most likely be different 50 years from now as we know it today, however it

By the way Don't get me wrong. I do believe there should be rules in all classes. However when a class is formed and the rules have been drafted up by the people creating the class, then they should definitely stick to the original rules as much as possible. The main reason for rule changes should be for the safety and we'll being of competition, bystanders, and fans, not because someon

The point of the rule is common courtesy. To prevent one guy from posting as many single item posts as he desires and kicking the other guys who conform to the rules over to the next page or even worse if the person breaking the rules posted enough 1 item ads. Basically common courtesy.

Greetings all! I have read many recent posts in regards to the LPS class and other similar posts from the past.
I have read everything from how we limit these tractors so they can't do this or do that, or maybe take away this or that. All for what??? So maybe this guy can do this or maybe that guy can do that? Well maybe we can all just all show up at a pull and we all take turns pulling th

However, there is no way anyone could truthfully say whether it would make a positive or negative impact on his setup, or maybe no change at all without testing before and after on the same test equipment. I will always be happy to help anyone out, however
