I have a 856 rearend that had a 1256 transmission on it. I have upgraded to a different transmission with a different sized pilot bearing in the output gear. The pinion shaft has a pilot roller bearing that measures roughly 3 inches which fit fine in the old output on the transmission. I need to know if i can change the bearing on the pinion shaft to a smaller bearing to fit inside the output on

We used a plastic seat from jegs. Had to put it on a slant mount so we could fit inside. They also carry aluminum seats. The plastic deal with mount kit and slider kit was about $150. This is on a hot farm ih.

I have been recently told that a copper gasket won't keep water in if you are running a completely watered engine. Said sometimes it will hold water in and other times it seeps water between the head and block. Any truth to this? Really wanted to run a copper gasket.

We bought a Kenny's. Atlas looks nice for about the same money. Wipeout has one but it's a bit more expensive. Not sure if his is different somehow or not.

From what I have been told the gas 706 and 806 had faster gears. 13-49 gear count I think.

Was that farm insurance or rv insurance?

Ohio changed the laws last year. An rv needs a fridge microwave and can't have a fifth wheel. Have seen quite a few at pulls but never thought to ask about insurance. I figured the hard part would be the tags. Guess not.

They don't offer insurance in ohio. Thanks though. It won't really be a motor home but more of a dedicated truck to pull the trailer. Trying to avoid paying for commercial tags and insurance. Plus with the rv tags I don't need a cdl.

I have been trying to find an insurance company to cover a medium or heavy duty truck converted to an rv. Ohio law makes it pretty simple to make an rv but all of the insurance companies I have talked to will not cover it unless it is professionally converted. We have a 94 freightliner fld112 right now with a flat bed and goose neck hitch with a single axle. I have been looking at ih crew cabs b

They called me. I was at the pull but outside at the time. I would say if you win they would have called by now. I'm sure someone will post the results but I'm guessing everyone is traveling home today.

Morton Il has one of the largest Cat warehouses which is about an hour drive or so. Peoria houses a lot of Cat factories that gives tours sometimes and there is also the Cat museum in downtown Peoria.

Ok a little update and another question. I have found a built 66 trans withy the 1 3/4 input. Is there a way to remove the pump and valve from the tran (1256) and plum the orbital valve to run a snow plow pump? Also will removing the lines and master cylinder for the brakes and installing individual master cylinders but still using the factory brake system work?

Was really trying to keep the power steering without spending a bunch of money this year. Just starting out and need to watch what we are spending on. That is our eventual goal though.

Thanks for the advice Gonzo. We have a an Atlas 3 disc clutch that needs rebuilt anyhow so I don't think the changeout would be a big deal. We will also be pulling the TA, also an atlas 8 disc TA I think. Trying to decide whether to do the big shaft or stick the small shaft. It's eventually going to be a 570 ci 3000 rpm p pump with a 3x3 charger. The reason for the bigger shaft is it

Bad Medicine,
I just spoke with Dwayne at Allied. Im going to wait a few weeks until his stock is back up on the TA parts. I think you are right on the wheels, i will wait until some come up for sale. We have a set now but we were hoping for a little wider than what these are.
Sylvester,
Just purchased a tractor with an 856 rear, DT466 and 1066 sheet metal and front frame.

Also, are there factory 20x38 inch wheels out there somewhere with a 9 bolt pattern? Or is that going to be more of a custom deal that we have to make ourselves? What all parts are needed for the TA delete? i havent had much luck at performance places finding this and only finding them at general parts places online. Anyone have any good leads where to start?
