Now, now boys, settle down. I was in Louisville for the whole show. I heard Dan use that reference. Kinda wondered why, as he doesn’t use it in Hillsboro when I announce with him. Maybe since Louisville is the home of the old tnt, someone asked him to.?? Nevar had a chance to visit with him though. Did chat with miles quick a couple of times in passing though. Bottom line is they both did a grea

One only has to look at events like Rock Springs Wyoming and Ottertail Minnesota as a couple of examples of Grand National events that did not last long on the circuit.

Pullers
Consider it a successful weekend of pulling if they can cover their expenses, fuel food, ect. Now that those expenses have doubled, and the purses have stayed the same. Now you are looking at loosing money every pull you go to. The best way to minimize losses is to cut back on pulls, especially one that require great distances traveled. The way things are this year, if you hurt some part

Bringing in an organization is going to give you a idea of vehicle count. The pullers that run with that organization are content with the payout that is dictated by the association. You will have some “administrative “ fees, but they are way offset by worries about vehicle count, did you post enough prize money, quality of show...ect.

The real issue here is, people just don’t go to events like they used to. Whether it be pulling , drag racing, nascar, or Saturday night tracks. The internet has changed the world and it ain’t going back. People has so many more options now days, and one of them is sitting on their phone. I watch some of the drag racing from the 70’s- 80’s and it amazes me how packed the stands were! Now they don

I was spoiled. Here was my schedule in the 80’s. Davenport, end of June, elkhorn, the next weekend on the 4th of July weekend. Then on to tomah the weekend after that. Also had regional pull in Morris Illinois mixed in during the week that was like a GN pull due the pullers staying in the area for the other 3 pulls.

from the time we pulled in to the parking lot, where we were directed to park our rigs, to getting registered and numbers and passes, everyone was so very nice and cordial. the entire crew worked gr

Willy, that's who I was thinking too! not sure if it is fact, was thinking we might get more responses, but with coronavirus, and a LLSS thread, not so much!! LOL. also as I thought about it walsh may have been the first automotive style engines to do do it, but, like grubby and cpr said, the allisons were probably the first. EJ Potter had the Double Ugly tractor. it was a W-24 Allison. not

i will weigh in on this "pun intended". we run our mini-rods with 3 different organizations, 2 of them have the exact same rules, same tractors, for the most part. ITPA, and IPA , we have a 6-71 at 10% on a 380 ci small block. weight was 1900 last year. goes to 1950 for this year. We dyno our motors at Englkings, (best guy around in my opinion) we make about 1250 HP on the dyno, then detune them

Finally had the chance to watch a pull , Miles Krieger did an excellent job this afternoon in Tomah!! I usually don't say too much about this , as I am one, but faced with a class of 52 entires, he did a great job of keeping the fans involved and informed for 3 hrs !!! That's tough. Stories about the pullers, top 5-10 in distance. All good. He knows his stuff, and now is sharing it
