what is the maximum safe pressure you can put to a wet clutch. anyone running 300 psi? I know the filter may come off at that pressure but what about modifying the cover on the filter?

I agree if you have a lot of power you can do what you describe, (sandbagging) cause i have done that myself, but it is difficult to do and not go over the speed limit or let your tractor go under on the charger. In my experience, if the speed limit is pretty slow, say 4-6 mph, it is very hard to do what you describe. The faster the speed limit the more advantage a big power tractor has. It als

I can't see how a 6030 has an advantage if they are only allowed to go the same speed limit as other tractors. If anything I would think they would have a disadvantage in classes 11500 and under cause they can't move weight around much in light classes.

In my opinion, the mph limit is basically the only rule you need other than weight and hitch height. It doesn't matter if your turn big rpms or wahatever if you can only go 8 mph it boils down to the drivers skill and his ability to balance his weights and his selection of tires.

I don't know who makes the best, but Scheid diesel has a set up they sell. we have been looking in to it out here. I think the monitor is in the 600 dollar range and sensors are around 55 dollars per tractor. that does not give you a display on the track, just the sled. one other option is summit sells a device that hooks up to a electronic tach and has a memory feature, so you could mak

seems to me that you should just let anyone who wants to run water run it, with whatever they want in it? how is that not making the playing field even. why make a rule if you don't need to? cubes are a different story, but again if there is no cube limit, you can't cheat!!!

Anyone have the exact specs on out of box 3lm's? I know one is a 2 5/16 or 2.3125 inlet side. what is the corresponding outlet (exhaust) size for that charger and what is the inlet and outlet for the larger 3lm. about 2.5 in ? and what out?

that seems like you have a hell of a lot of power for only going 12 mph. I would think that tractor could go 20 or so. why build so much to go the speed limit of 12?

would be nice to see some new faces, so if you meet the rules come on over. I will be running in the hot farm 3000 rpm class. I know we definitlety have some tuning to do on the rules, but they are a heck of a lot better than what we had before. that was the reason for ths thread in the first place and we made some headway. appreciate all the input from you and the others on the thread. .

let me start by saying I am not in your club... You make some good points Frenchy. We have a wildabeast of a 6030 down here that is it's own animal. hard to find a spot for it. personally I recommend it be limited to 12,500 class and above in the hot stock. don't want to turn it away, but no chance of anyone competing with it except another big cube tractor. we run 3000 rpm whic

You said in that one statement .. Billy's tractor does not run as good as it should, Billy is a cheater, Billy cries when caught and has a temper, and is not the spokesmen fo

LOL, yeah apparently not.. No big deal, some folks never happy with anything even if it does not affect them. I am confident the club board will listen to suggestions make good choices for the pullers. By the way, those suggestions are from several of the guys on the board. I know Steve talks to most all the guys while trucking and I just put it on paper to make it presentable. They are not

try not to get too pissed off at each other and step back a little and take a honest look at what you have and the person who is open minded and honest enough to think things through clearly will see a workable solution to just able any mechanical minded sport. One thing for sure never try to beat somebody by changing the rules to get them out. Make an intermediate class or something but don

Well spoken Dick. I guess you see we have a problem here and there. Wer're trying and I think we will get there in the club I pull in. Our region in western Pa is a little behind the power curve as we are learning lessons other clubs probably overcame years ago. Our tractors are now advancing quickly and we are playing catch up some. We still have the opportunity to keep most all peopl

1st. this is a post trying to solicit Ideas from other people (read guys who pull) about what they think would be a good idea for rule changes. 2nd. it is to try to open up the class some to economy hot tractors. maybe we can get a D21 with an A pump or a 4010 with an A pump in there. they are so much easier and cheaper to build and lots of guys have them in the sheds waiting to turn them in

LOL.. you crack me up. if you read them, it said right on top my suggestion.. just trying to help level the field some. I will run whatever the board decides and not post personal attacks anonymously on pull off. if no body gives an opinion how will we ever get better rules? or how will the boaard know what the pullers want. I mean Judd, why do you find it necessary to say dumb @#$%& like

Rickmo, in speaking with steve it looks like a consensus may me coming into view with 600 ci, 3x3, and "A" pump. that is a nice class I think. Probably not quite as reliable & economical with the A but still way better than holding the rotory guys to a rotory. I think you guys are going to be surprised at how many tractors will be competitive in this class and just how many new ones will show

throttle stop screw at pump if it has it (like a JD inline pump) trying to get all tractors to do that. hope to get the electric hook ups soon to solve some of the doubts people have. We like to run a class act...f you know what I mean.. but some never are satisfied, so the electronic method is probably the only way to go.
