I've searched around out of curiosity for a comparison between these two. In general, what are some of the advantages and disadvantages to running an A-pump vs M100 on an IH, MPH, and open speed pulling? Cost, longevity, and performance, will an M100 keep up with an A-pump or an A-pump keep up with an M100?

Look in the business directory on the links page here, Plenty of folks on there have them.
I had a local machine shop machine the cross. Got the needles from John Deere, don't remember the part number. Cost me about $250 total.
That sounds sweet!!
Does anyone know the part numbers?

I personally would needle any IH I was going to pull. Yes splash is fine up to 20 mph.
Interesting. Thank you!
Does anyone make kits to put in the differential myself? Who all does the service?

At what point is it worth while to pressure lube a diff on a IH 06-86 rear end? Do you go by horse power, speed, weight? I would think wheel speed is probably the biggest contributing factor?
Also, needling the diff, same questions as above.
Is splash oiling for up to 20mph wheel speed good yet or…..?

You can make the 9000 if you use a fiberglass nose, make a light bolster between the frame under the nose, lighter front end like a Schwartz, aluminum fenders, bias ply 20.8x38 tires, remove the seat and make a homemade lighter one and take the pto out. That should get you pretty close to 9000 if not less like 8700 or so, depending on driver weight.

What would be really cool and I'm surprised no one is doing this would be to put a strain gauge on the hook of the sled and measure the tension force in pounds. This would be really interesting for the fans to see on a big screen because it would show them clearly the difference between the classes when it comes to how much the sled is loaded and working against the pu

I don’t know if the mod guys have the technology in the clutch system like the top fuels but they may have to figure out how to incorporate the clutching system off of a top fuel/funny car and introduce different stages of the clutch as they go down the track.

Another poster has a great idea, raise the chain on the sled to start out better, then at 100 feet have it go lower, problem solved.
Not a bad idea but that will end up costing a lot to figure out, make and it’s something else mechanical on the sled to fail that could have catastrophic failure and consequence that no one should have to deal with. The hitches are already there, has that k

There’s two threads here trying to accomplish the same thing. Wouldn’t it work to lower the hitch height? As power increases you know they regear to counter that and so if you lower the hitch height a 1/2”-3/4”-1” or more to make them essentially blow their tires off that would be an easy/cheap problem solver would it not?

If today’s sleds are having issues stopping the mod classes, why not lower the hitch height in the rules….?

I agree, it a john deere show for sure. The 680 rule in my opinion is the culprit of the class being a one color class. 540 would be better in my opinion and the light pros should be 540 or under with a charger limit. The current light pros should actually be the pro stock class. Just my opinion
As a spectators view on this class and a small puller…..I agree with this^^. It’s made i

No one rates chargers in cfm, lbs/min has a direct correlation to how much HP a turbo will support.
What is the equation for figuring out lbs/min for a certain horse power or general rule of thumb figure?

Sleds - 2 years ago
I’ve got some questions for the community here about sleds.
In mid Missouri there used to be a Taylor sled that was used for many years and I was curious as to where did that sled go and who built it? If possible would like to see if it can be bought or find someone that can build one like it.
I pull with a club/association that is in need of a sled that is for farm and antique pulling up

I was thinking about our veterans and how betrayed they must feel about what is going on with this country. I was also thinking about how in the 1700s, these men risked it all to be free and make this country what it is supposed to be.
These politicians on both sides, especially the libtard left, should be ashamed of what they have done. It's an outright kick in the guts. It

@Kristy, I think the same for people putting deere engines into other tractor brand’s tin too, but to grow the sport and keep it going you gotta go with what works and most cost effective! If you want to install a better block that is not of the color of the pulling tractor in a red, yellow, orange, green tractor go ahead, in the end the pullers are happy(because of less breakage and less breakag

Op, yes.....easier than going from gas to diesel.
ihfan634 is right......your just missing the holes in the frame or they are about 3”-4” in front of the d360(they will be offset) can’t remember if they are offset down or up to bolt the 400series in, the rest of the holes are the same for the bolster, fan shroud, guessing your going to turbo but your either going to have to modify your fuel tan

Isn't it just as hard on a pulling vehicle to have a floating finish as it would to just stick with 300'-310'-320' full pull and then have a pull off? Because once you go past a certain footage say (200') mark the tractor is working the hardest and going 340+ is just putting unnecessary heat, wear and tear in a pulling machine?

cant bounce a flat basketball farm a bfg should be around 16 harder you spin it you can go down fire stone will work with lower pressure
But when you put a downward force and a rotation away from that with a flat tire what happens then? I would think too much flex would make you bounce more.

double that and you might win,low pressure is only good for a great thunderstorm.
Ok so in your options on an IH to hot to farm going down the track in the mid twenties mph at 11,000-13,000lbs what would you all suggest on air psi on a non cut tire? I have seen some bounce really bad......I have heard it called "binder bounce". I would think the lower the psi the more it would b
