I purchased an enclosed trailer last year from Midsota and they worked with formula trailers to design it to meet all my needs. I would suggest finding and dealer that is willing to spend time with you and who ever builds the trailer to make sure it meets your needs. Good luck

I run same number of weights and come off the line over 5000 rpms nice and easy. I would look at leverage on your clutch. I just slow inch the petal out. You do the slipping by how you release the clutch.

I agree with David. I have pulled up to 7500 open and in my opinion 6250 is a fun weight to run. If the class would go under 6000 lbs. in my opinion it would drive some to do a lot of grinding on rear end and transmission case to save weight which could weaken them. I think that WTPA lss class also runs at 6250 lbs. I could be wrong.

Ihdad I respect your wanting to build your own tractor. I do use a well know engine builder and puller to build mine. It amazing how much information that a case of beer will ge5. I am more than willing to have an expert help me with education. It has saved me much money and time not reinventing the wheel. Good luck with your build and I am looking forward to seeing videos of your tractor ru

I guess I am an odd ball. Since most of the time I am by myself I enjoy seeing pictures of my tractor pulling. If the picture is very good one, I have asked photographer for copy for my album, and they have been very generous.

I would recommend checking with DOT from your state on what allowed. The pin maybe safe and easy but if it doesn't meet the State's requirements for load containment you could be fine or put out of service. My state requires 4 separate points of securement each chain or strap must be rated for more that 1/4 of weight of load.

First off I own and run a light limited super stock diesel tractor. I will not come back for pull off. IMO it's too hard on motor. A good sled operator with a good sled can stop you any were they want to. I was out benefit pull Monday, the sled operator came over to me before the pull started and asked me how fast I could go and I gave him range from 27 to 30 mph, Track was 340 feet he s

I agree it make power. Back in the 70'ies they use to say about 150 hp. With new turbos I would not want to run without water.

they charge $10,000 for top fuel ride. so $5000 does not seem too much. I wonder about insurance cost.

I would think that cooler would be too much of an advantage, You might have to give the non cooler tractor more weight to make fair.
