Boch A Pump on 4320 block? January 25, 2014 01:23AM
Can anyone tell me for certain whether a Bosch or Nippendenso A Pump will bolt up to a stock 4320 block without doing any machine work?

it will not bolt on.

OK, so it's not a straight up bolt on. I guess the next question is, Is it possible to mount one on it, and if so what work would need to be done?

What do you have to do to get one to fit?

The block is not made to support the heavier pump plus rotary is cam shaft driven.

You need a 404 combine or 4430 style block etc. or go with a 466. I've been in same situation for along time. Good luck!

The pump is on the front on a 4320.. Not sure if there is enough to machine it out for an A pump mount.. I've seen adapters made to run A pumps on other engines.
I'm guessing you have to run a stock block??

It can be done we used to have a setup but its long gone you can machine the hole out and make a spacer between the pump and cover the pump has to set with the lines coming out at 2:00 position and support the pump bottom to the engine block they did this in the 70s - 80s so its not uncommon
