210" NTPA tire rule

Pro pulling

Been hearing a lot of rumors that NTPA is enforcing the 210" tire rule. A lot of the new pro pullers are tall and the newer Firestones won't pass either.. Also know that quite a few 30.5 new and old ones don't pass either?? Why hasn't this rule been enforced in the past?? Does Outlaw and PPL have the same rules?? Just wondering |

Says there supposed to be checked at 10 pounds of air to.What are they going to do have us pump them up at the trailer before we go to the scale?Maybe they will have a portable air compressor now at the scale.Looks like we will be busy shrinking tires that people have run for years. No body runs them at 10 pounds why is that evn in the rule book?? |

There's a lot of things that should be checked ie: fuel, cubic inch, drawbar distance , tire diameter etc. If the rule reads 210" @ 10psi, it's up to each competitor to make sure they comply reguardless of which brand tire or width of rim they choose to use. You wanna make some pullers break nervous, get out a tape measure & an engine pump! |

If you think Larry is lazy that is your business but just remember Larry is the head of the NTPA tech officials so he doesn't have to do it he just has tell others to do it. Just sayin.

The original rule stated 210 inch circumference. No rim width, no inflation pressure. The originator of the Parkes Puller asked for the rule to be updated to be specific (xx psi on xx inch rim, etc...) to know what the actual design specs should be. Apparently that information was lost in the transition. It is usually best to understand the rules before developing something that may not fit them. |

They could check them at 3 psi, and if they're too big there my math skills says they're still gonna be too big at 10 psi. |

I would imagine there is already a tape measure at every pull so I don't see measuring tires as big problem. |

The rule reads on a 25 or 26 inch rim. So what if I have a set of 24.5s on 28 inch rims. Or a set on 24 Inch rims. How are they going to go about that? |

Rule is 210. Has always been 210. Doesn't matter what rim width it is. Larry is lazy I doubt it will ever be enforced. With that being said maybe Mark and Bruce should have thought about it before pushing tires out all over that they know are to big. |

I'm not pushing anything. For your information we have 10 sets of Pro Pullers that are all under 210" and 10 set left of the Firestone at 210" so please don't bring me into this.I agree with having a circumference rule but I believe in 1 percent allowance. |

B-24.5X32 maximum of 210 inch circumference, when
inflated to 10psi on a 26” rim. Tread width not to exceed 25”. Sorry I was wrong. This is the ppl rule book |

Having the rule based off rolling circumference at operating psi on whatever rim width it happens to be on would be much easier to tech. |
