S360 vs 3LM

Couple questions. 361 cubes
300cc fuel. 5x20 injectors. Have two turbo options 3LM with a welded up 241 exhaust housing. And I have a S360 with both .88 and .91 exhaust housings. Which turbo from your guys experience you think going todo better? Thanks in advance |

How many rpms? I think the s360 is going to be too big and not spool, the 3lm May be a better option, if need be you may be able to get a 231 exhaust housing fitted to the 3lm |

The s300 will make quite a bit more power. If you can get up over 400 cc of fuel thats closer to where you'll need to be. Also that 88 a/r housing isn't a twin scroll so i would recommend a 91. They also make a 83 twin scroll on a t4 foot if you need a tighter exhaust |

My pump is good up to 400cc but was told should set to 80% of cubes so was set around the 300 mark id like a tighter exhaust housing ill have to look for the 83 then if your thinking the twin scroll is way to go |

You will probably not be happier with an HX40.....they're not a whole bunch better than a 3LM. The S300 series Borg Warner turbos are great. So many options for exh housings, intake sizes, bearing types......most universal turbos with some decent technology (for being mass produced).
They said we would never spool and hold an S366 with a 91 housing on a 1066 running less than 3100 rpm......."they" were wrong. All I'm sayin. And the "required" cc of fuel is a bit misleading too. People seem to forget you are moving air too......which is equally as big a factor as the fuel. They are a hand in hand relationship. Fuel alone doesn't drive the turbo. My advice.....buy it with the 91 housing and try it. If it doesn't work, try the 83 housing. There is a 77 housing as well. Almost all are T4 foot. Exh housings for these chargers are cheap. |

I beg to differ with you about the 3LM being better than an HX40, we’ve had both on a 400 series and a 361, for one a 3LM is rather lazy on a 361 with a 2.75 exhaust wheel and no air bleeds. The HX40 also makes 8-10lbs more boost. |

I didn't articulate myself very well with the comparison.
I will give you that the HX40 is one better than the 3LM........but any S300 is twice what either of the other two are. |
