Does any body make a good electric one

Re: supply pump December 01, 2010 02:02PM
your only going to have a few more dollars in a tuthill. I have herd of guys running a belt drive setup. takes a really good electric motor to keep your pressure at 60 psi good luck

Re: supply pump December 01, 2010 02:25PM
Two shurflo 3.5 gpm pumps works great and they cost less than 100.00 each, they are electric and self regulate at 45psi

What brand do you pull farm stock puller and were

Re: supply pump December 01, 2010 02:39PM
electric pumps aren't very reliable. I gave up on them this year and went to belt drive. I ran two electrics on a model 100 pump and had lots of trouble keeping over 65lbs pressure down the track.

Re: supply pump December 02, 2010 02:50PM
Are you running the pumps in series or parallel?

Re: supply pump December 03, 2010 10:43AM
Parallel The trouble i kept having was blowing the O-rings out of the head .

I use to run 2 shurflo's that had been reworked from the guys in GA. Ran them on a 540ci, 820cc a-pump and a 4.1 turbo. Never had any troubles!

Re: supply pump December 02, 2010 01:12PM

I purchased one from them but it wasnt reworked. 40psi, 1.8gph, continuous duty (no pressure switch shutoff).

Re: supply pump December 03, 2010 12:06AM
What would you recommend for somebody running a 100 pump with a high lift cam would any of these shurflo pumps work if I bought them from northern right out of the box for me.Also could you use one of these for a circualtion pump on your coolant system or would the heat destroy them???

Re: supply pump December 03, 2010 01:43AM
[www.jegs.com] This is a link to a pump from jegs.com I have ran it for the last 2 years, no problems. It holds 36 psi down the track, and if you want it a little higher you might shim the spring but I like knowing the flow rate is high enough. I checked my pump and it will pump 10 quarts in 15 seconds, which is way more than I can burn.

Re: supply pump December 03, 2010 01:22PM
Just call these guys for a shurflo....they have put the better seals in them for diesel fuel. Also they have several options for pressure. Art at 877-917-1199

Re: supply pump December 03, 2010 11:56PM
Are they alot more money just wondering

Re: supply pump December 04, 2010 01:45AM
I spoke with those guys about a year ago and I thought there shurflo pumps were $100. I was looking at one that had a pressure of 90 psi. Since I don't run an alternator, I figured that a mechical setup would have less draw on my battery.

Re: supply pump December 04, 2010 05:56AM
i haven't ran an alternator on my tractor for years im running 2 surflo pumps and i don't have a problem just charge the batt b4 going to the pull and i run a 1000cca battery that is all and i have had the battery for 3years in the tractor and have had no problem

Re: supply pump December 04, 2010 06:18AM
Yea, I run alot of electric things that can eat up a battery. 2 - shurflos, coolant pump, electric fan and electric water injection.
