At one time the FPP RWYB class had various weights and drawbar heights to even everything out. However, in more recent years there’s been an effort to simplify the rules. Last year all trucks competed at 7500 lbs. Drawbar height was adjusted based off of set up.
It’s a premiere class and a lot of fun to watch. Anyone can win, any given night. FPP is always striving for the perfect balance, e

I agree that the previous announcers have done a great job in years past. Big shoes to fill (trust me as one of the guys that tried to fill them this year).
“Localpuller”. I also appreciate your thoughts because it isn’t an easy gig that just anyone can do or even wants to do. There are typically more events than available announcers in a given season.
In this particular instance, I belie

From what I know (which is very little) it can be and has been done. Who can/should do it and cost effectiveness is unknown. Someone may share their knowledge on here. Good luck with the build, if you go that route.

Are you allowed to run a turbo? Or would you have to call it a 2-105 White to do that?

I also was there. I also happened to be a FAN that was sitting in a box seat and was close enough I could spit on the track. I watched the mini-mod roll and break not far from me too (not many talking about that incident anymore after the Ford Explosion)…I also want to say that I thought it was a well run event and the entire crew did a nice job and put on a good event…But here are my thoughts af

Hello all,
Planning to go to Shipshewana for the Midwest Nationals in Jan. It’ll be my first time (never made it to Gordyville, either). I’m only able to catch the Friday and Saturday sessions.
Is there any benefit to getting advanced tickets vs buying at the door? Are seating arrangements stadium seats, benches, etc. Can you save a seat or all first come first serve after each session.

At one time, 2wd trucks could also compete in the USA East RWYB class and would be competitive and rack up wins throughout the season depending upon the pulling surface, as you mentioned. It’s certainly an entertaining class.

The truck you are referring to is owned by Doug Martin. He had a very successful season. There are likely multiple reasons for this.
1) He has spent LOTS of time and effort figuring out his set up…He has run that truck for several years in order to get the correct NOS settings and timing of when to apply it during the run. He would adjust that at various tracks and venues as he got the feel for

The USA East Smoker series will run again in 2021. They have 7 events this year. The first hook will be in Bloomsburg on June 19th. Both JDs will be eligible to hook in the event.

Great. Glad he’s sticking with it. It’s a unique set up that makes that class even more interesting.

I heard the pro-charger was an experiment and that he’s going to/back to a blower in 2021. Can’t verify that but I don’t think he was pleased with the results of the pro charger

My mistake/apology on the COTPA not using the 6000 RPM limit. I believe it was considered in the off-season but they went a different direction.

I believe COTPA adopted the USA East Rule set for the big block class. Therefore, they’re one in the same. But I do believe it will be a points hook

If you’re in the Indiana/Ohio area they’re definitely Small Blocks turning 8000 RPMs. I don’t know much about them beyond that. I’m sure there are others on here that know more
If you’re in the eastern Ohio, western PA are they have a big block class. Limited to 6000 RPMs and so they don’t use an auxiliary transmission. As BBChevy said, you probably need the auxiliary with the extra RPMs.

You do not have to replace the entire turbo. You can replace just the actuator. Those are known to stick and go bad. Still not a cheap fix (part is $400 roughly) but if you want to retain the factory exhaust brake and keep the current turbo that’s your best course of action.
A good diesel shop would definitely be able to fix that for you. You may be able to do it yourself depending on how han

When that class got started it did indeed fill a void. In Eastern Ohio and Western PA Hot Farm is 600 cubic inch. 9500 lbs.
Classic Super Stock was indeed a USA East name as they were simply called Div. 5 before USA East sanctioning. At 7700 pounds and smaller tires, they filled that niche before LLSS.
Hot Farm, at least in that region, consists of the classic Red vs Green class with a fe

I’m not necessarily “in-favor” of the time elapsed time or Racing element being added to pulling. Just believe it’s not what pulling is about...Now I say that to say this...
Anytime I explain what tractor pulling is to someone who doesn’t know (and trust me it’s a lot...) The number one question I get asked BY FAR is...”So is it whoever pulls it down the track the fastest?”

I was also there and know many of the guys involved.
Most of the guys that ran TO the truck instead of away from it were actually his competitors trying to help. Others were event officials. The kill switch was operational and is what ended up being pulled. It was hung up/stuck and couldn’t be easily pulled by hand. The guillotine was actually activated though by him putting truck in gear and

I’m looking for knowledge about the similarities and differences between an Oliver 880 and 1650.
What parts can be interchangeable? Can you take ring gear and pinion out of one and put in the other? Are they the same? Completely different? 1650 much stronger than an 880?
Any help would be great.
Thanks

They didn’t shut everything down. Didn’t lock themselves indoors. They protected their most vulnerable population in assisted living homes through PPE, visitation, common sense health measures.

I’ve been waiting for this to be mentioned here. I had heard about the Sweden’s approach and numbers but didn’t have any information to support it.
The statistics are interesting. Sweden’s approach is also interesting.
With this, I believe that it’s important to consider the “mental health” element of all of this. I know that’s a topic many people don’t want to talk about but I believe it

That’s simply not true as you just read 2 examples. I’m thankful for both types. I personally like watching them together. I also think it would and could work if given a chance.
