Open Super Stock Tractors, Farley, IA, 08-15-20
I don't know the details of the sled setting, but I know it was a topic of discussion on this board back in the summer. This is the closest resemblance to a tractor PULL at a national level that I have seen in recent history. The open super stock tractors are digging and clawing for the last 50' or so. As indicated by the results, it wa

Ken,
If you have a Facebook account, send a message to the Steel City staff or author a post on their Facebook page - Steel City FB. They are quick to reply, and other pullers tend to give useful information. Unfortunately, the local antique tractor pulling club (WGCATA) also has a pull this Saturday (07/20), but that won't affect the open farm stock class at Steel City.

I'm looking for advice on where to get work done on connecting rods to reduce wrist pin diameter from 1.25" to the more common 0.927" SBC piston. Located in north central WV. What would this work cost for a set of 6 rods? Thanks in advance.

Where's the best place to go for a Roosamaster/Stanadyne pump for a 3000 RPM, NA 310 cid direct-injected Oliver puller? We're still running the stock pump (80-90 cc) right now. How many cc should we need? We have to run the stock style fuel pump for our class here in southwestern PA.
Also, where's a good place for the pencil-style injectors? I see Columbus Diesel has them on thei

Another NTPA member has gone to the big full pull in the sky. Jim Weaver, driver of The Virginian, passed away on Monday, November 7th. I'm proud to say I had the pleasure to meet Mr. Weaver. Thoughts and prayers for his family. Obituary here

Must be the infamous 310 block. I've heard that block can take a lickin' in its alcohol-injected wardrobe. That engine gets a bum rap, but when updated, she'll hang right with the rest of them. Glad to see another Oliver/White about to hook to the sled.

I agree to the previous two posts. What the NTPA should do is replace the Super Farm class with a LLSS class with rules just like Badger State Tractor Pullers. There would be much more color and variety as a 9600 Ford with a single charger could win one night and a 1855 Oliver with twins could win the next. Who wants to watch 10 year-old Pro Stocks lug off the line only to puke at the 290' m

See the thread from last year regarding the rules:
Tractor pull begins at 8 PM. Arrive early to avoid the parade if you're coming from the east on PA Rt 21.

I can't agree more with Close and bleedinred. When asked if the sled operator can change the settings so it won't drop all of a sudden, he blames everyone being stopped within 12 inches on the "big hole in the track." The only reason that hole is there is because that's where he dropped the pan on everyone.

I would think that excess propane in the exhaust would be orange in color. Propane burns blue when it's correctly mixed with oxygen, just like your barbecue grill. There is virtually no oxygen in the exhaust of an engine. If the tractor powers out, there will be excess fuel, and therefore excess propane. This propane cannot burn with the appropriate amount of oxygen in the cylinder, so it ex

This reminds me of a pull that I attended several years ago. A middle-aged couple was seated in front of my brothers and me, and the diesel tractors were pulling; I can't remember if it was supers or pros. Anyway, the woman was smoking a cigarette, but every time the tractor smoke drifted into the grandstands, she covered her face with a handkerchief. We thought that was pretty funny. I bet
