Here are the pistons for the third time. The bore of these are 4.530 and 13:1 on small chamber head.
the bore on the RD 501 block at max seems to be 4.620. once you remove the sleeve on an RD 450 it is4.500.
you will need tocheck block for thickness and that doesnt mean that there isn't a san hole in the casting.

I have them or plates to do your own. I will tell you the best option is extrude hone. they have adds in hot rod mag. they push adbrasive puddy through the manifolds and equal the flow. Do both intake and exhaust and I've seen the differance it makes.
At low rpms I dont thinks headers are a big advantage unless you have bigger ports and a bigger carb to run it.

We had a 301 stroker motor,13:1 comp. ratio. The tractor would run high RPMs down the track then run out of power.
After we put the extrude hone manifolds the tractor it would loose only a few hundred RPMs at the other end of the track.
The tractor would spin out before it would begin to run out of power. It was hard to believe that it was the same engine.

All the kits are avaliable but need to be certifed to buy and install. I will be doing the installs as soon as the pumps are running. As for your diesel hauler these kits are complete to fit nearly any application. So go to the pulls running on CNG and diesel, sure would make a differance on what it cost to get to the pulls.

What are thinking could happen? I have done a lot of research on the tanks for one, the tanks even if pieced by a bullet will not explode. CNG has to be thinned out with oxygen to burn. The fuel lines are rated for over 5,000 lbs pressure and CNG at full tank is 3600 psi. In January GM will be offering it on HD 2500 series trucks. CNG is going to fuel this country for much less than oil. Tractor

diesel with turbo. can do either set up though.injectors are smaller. With CNG your fuel system can be way undersized for the engine and the CNG will make up the difference. The need for a big fuel system could be a thing of the past.

I am in the process of building a natural gas tractor with diesel turbo. I the near future these kits will be able to be installed on your tractors. 282 head will not go on a gas,but a gas can go on the 282. there are water holes in the gas block where you need head bolts. on the diesel block you can drill and tap for the gas head.
The solution for you is an RD450 or 501.

if weight is not an issue use the 706 rear. they offer a better gear selection and parts are easy to get. I have built the 560 rears we have the ta eliminator kits faster constant mesh gears needled diff with better cross ect. you will end up with about the same money in either rear. any question call floyd isbell 570 637 1311
