If I remember correctly on weight, I think it's not more than 20 pounds without the spindles. Measurement from hub to hub I don't have right now, but it was made so the front wheels track within the rear wheels.

This is the axle we have run for 6 years now and have had no trouble at all. Have bounced it good and has never failed.

If the gears that go on the pinion shaft (bottom shaft) have brass bushings in them, you probably don't need the OE lube pump. If the top shaft is cut to accept the OE lube pump drive, then I guess you could run it.
We have run a Beckett three speed for three years with no lube pump, and those bottom gears have the brass bushings. Make sure bottom shaft is covered in oil as your gauge (a

Is this a complete three speed trans with all new gears as straight cuts and new top & counter shafts? Or is it a kit to replace stock 5th and 7th and 8th?

Gear ratios are not universal. It is relevant only to the soil composition on tracks you pull on and your HP & Torque output. What works in one region of the country does not necessarily work in another!!

Ya, was there and was seriously impressed as well. Talked with Jason last fall when he was building it and saw it in the rough. Looks very nice now that it's finished.Runs good too.

Suit yourself on the brake issue, but I would remove the internals and go with outboards. You would be amazed how much drag there is with the stock type internals. It isn't as much about weight savings as it is drag and response time. If you go with outboards, and if you use Engler calipers, go with 7/8" bore on the masters, 3/4" is just a little lazy.

Had the privilege of seeing this tractor last fall when he was just completing the build and it was in the raw. Jason has an incredible talent level. Nearly everything on this machine has been handcrafted by him. I was blown away by the ability he had to make sheet metal from scratch. Awesome job Jason!
Best of luck with the new unit, and hope to visit soon.

I own that 4010, and am still in Harrisburg. Will be there from 10:30 a.m. until whenever it ends tonight. Good chance to catch me there between sessions, could text when I'm there for sure. Let me know, I'll check this site a few times today.

We made a header, but the combine manifold is much more durable and flows nice. Currently running this manifold.

Yes, any NA combine engine from 6600/7700 with the 404. Works very well to put turbo in front.

I'll second that!
There is NO way you could put 2500 thru that stock rear end and trans! I don't even know if the case would stand it with a custom three speed!

I believe a 1566 was the only TWD IH of that series to have a true planetary final drive set, instead of the bull gear set up that the 766-1466 had. Came with a 436 engine as well I think. Mostly dimensionally the same as the other 66 series in appearance. If this is incorrect, I'm sure someone will correct me soon enough.

Sounds like you are volunteering for it then.............otherwise, just be quiet and see if it gets fixed in the near future.
Most of us are quite thankful for this site and all it does for the pulling world, and yes, I've had the same trouble (for the last two weeks) as well, but I will tolerate it until it gets better.

Look closely in those pictures, the intake and exhaust manifolds are on the same side of the head, so I am guessing it is all deere since IH is a cross flow head....................

As far as I know, the blocks are the same width up to the introduction of 1969 (sn 200100 for 4020), then they are narrower.
I have a good original 4010 diesel head that I will part with if you were interested, is sitting here doing nothing. Also have good stock pump/lines/injectors to go with as well.

Depending on your track soil types and conditions, you may get away with a steel bearing support for the top shaft (getting rid of cast is good!). A set of straight cut gears would be an additional help. After that, syncros and top shaft are going to be weak links. Hard to say how far away you are from that, it's always a guessing game. Some people have been able to get away with more than o

If you have only deleted the syncros but are still using the stock shift collar that is keyed to the shaft in it's stock form, there is a good chance the key has been sheared off and the collar is split and is now a slightly larger OD, therby not allowing anything to pass over it. Been there, had that. Depending on what HP you are running, it is probably time to ditch the original trans and

Just get a 4" plain steel steel pipe (if that is the size for your turbo elbow) and then mount a 5" chrome one over it and that will give you about 1/2" gap between pipes. We just tack welded some spacers to the outside of the inner steel pipe that allowed the chrome pipe to still slide over top while keeping them in line with each other, with a more firm attachment @ the base of both. No more ra
