wouldn't it be great though if you could use one as a performance pump in place of an "a" pump? i would take it off my old man's 5288 and put it on. if i recall correctly from my days of workin at a pump shop the "start retard" flat top plungers are the down fall. and from i've been told there is no "normal" plungers and barrels made. but the cam is better than an "a" stock for sto

hytran is the only way to go. if you have a good high quality torque, shim the torque properly, set the pressure, make sure the spool travels all the way in both directions, and set the dump valve correctly, you should not have a problem. haven't had a bit of trouble with my torque, still shifts like it did the day we put it in 3 years ago. but everyone has there own opinion and this one is

speaking from experience you can get a lot of power out of that 436 with the right head work, cam, pump, and injectors, playing with cam timing and injection timing. depending on what class. i ran one in 3000 rpm, a pump, 3lm 366 turbo class. dad and i got alot of power out of it but it lacked on torque, used alot of clutch coming out of the hole, but once it was up she ran like champ.

Usually its the same price for the big 1566 shaft and the 1 3/4" 27 spline shaft. lots of people are running the 1566 shaft. If you need to keep your hydraulic pump for brakes and steering then you can't go with the 1 3/4" shaft. Either way you will need new clutch disks and a new center for your pressure plate. I'd do it right the first time and maybe put some gears in

Tractor pull on July 23 7:00 p.m. at Atokad Park in South Sioux City, NE. These guys are trying to rebuild their pull. As of right now it is a bring what you got and hope you got enough pull. They just want to put on a show for the fans. They have a good sled (X-factor). So bring your tractor, whatever it may be, and lets put on a good show!

you should call chuck and he'll tell you where he wants it. have one in our 3000 rpm tractor dialing it in is well worth it!

no silicone! copper coat on the head gasket yes it's good stuff. had a guy do his own overhaul brought the tractor in for a dyno check. lasted 10 minutes and locked up solid. so with 2 hours on an overhaul we overhauled at the shop. found the problem. don't get ahead of me. silicon was everywhere in that engine. in the sprays, cam lube holes, and just about every oil passage in the bloc

Just looking for some ideas. My dad and I built a 3000 rpm tractor and are having a blast with it. Now I am looking to build my own in the upcoming couple years. Kinda break the cost down over time. I have the basic components sitting in my shop. Rearend, transmission, and engine. Just tryin to decide what direction to go with them. What would be the best bang for the buck. open farmer and builder i'm with you both. the old man and i have yet to dyno. now have a 466. we just tinkered the last 2 years wrote down everything we did on the 436 and learned for ourselves. asked questions and alot of them. just because it performs on the dyno doesn't mean its gonna perform on the track. because if you can't balance the tractor with weight and drive it, it do

should be the same. and i wouldn't doubt if you got a bad part. the quality of parts these days is piss poor. i work at a case ih dealership. the cheaper they can get it made the better. take it back to them and get another one or get your money back and go to a bone yard and get one. unless the mating surfaces are flaking it will work good.

weight - 13 years ago
wanting to get lighter. tractor weighs approx. 7200lbs. i still have hubs, rockshaft cover, and steering column. if i were to put weld on hubs, remove the cover and put a cage back on, and use aluminum to make a bracket for the tin work to replace steering column what would it weight approx? thanks for any numbers or advice on losing more. already have a light front end. thanks again.

i don't remember exact number of cans i used. when you do it use something to keep it away from the oil sump(on a binder). i used a piece of plywood and plastic wrap. in the process of doing that i angled it so the oil that is thrown by the ring gear would run back down and not just sit on top. very important to let each layer cure. after the first layer i put old antifreeze jugs in to take

the group i pull with upped the hook fee to help compensate for the cost of the sled. for what it costs to go to a pull with fuel costs a couple extra bucks for hooking is a drop in the hat.

chop saw works great! i rotated the axles took bout half hour per side. and periodically ran a piece of strap steel across the blade to clean it. i have also cut axles with the tractor in gear. (that was at work i doubt that was OSHA safe lol!)
