Run a steel brake line to rear of engine, and wrap I around a 3" piece of pipe to make a coil
In the line. Fill the line with engine oil to keep soot out of gauge and check valve. Brake clean line and refill each season.

You can run the same gear, the fire stones will have less slippage to make up for the shorter

Make a hub to bolt onto front pulley with a 1" shaft and keys at, then install a cog belt pulley
Easily can change pulley size to help control pump speed/flow.
Make shaft slightly longer than needed to adjust pulley for alignment.

I under stand the idea of the single cable in the front, but when the hood comes off it lifts in the rear first directing
the blast to the driver. Is a second cable between 3-4, or 4-5 , closer to center
A reasonable idea to contain blast under the hood?? Still has more holding toward the front.
It hopefully would catch head before it flipped off, with far less destruction

Melt throught nylon blanket, with punch or sharp hot pipe.
Kevlar blankets work best by grinding teeth off of hole saw, and sharpen
Edge, cuts a cleaner hole.
