We built our own rail style frame for our tractor for the ‘16 season and have been very happy with it. . I definitely would not keep the factory cast tub frame. You need to call Brad at Maibach Tractor about a trans/rear end setup.

Check out Ace Chassis website, there are pictures of an oliver/white chassis on there. Mike does excellent work. Also check with Brad at Maibach Tractor, he has built a few chassis that might work for your application. Are you thinking you want to build a full tube chassis or a rail style?

After you get them needled, it should take 1500 consistently. If you have plans for more than that at the weight range you are considering, a pinion snubber would be a pretty good idea. We were in 4 digit power levels with a 1850 rear end/ trans for 5 seasons and never had a failure.

There are 3 series of 1800s. A,B and C. The A are the lightest weight of the 4 spider differential rear ends, but they are also not pressure lubed. Those are typically used for building the LLSS tractors only because of the weight difference. I suggested a 1850 because you won't have any problem getting a tractor into your weight range using one, they are pressured lubed, they don't hav

I used 3/16 on mine as well. I've taken a wild ride on it and broke a spindle. Tractor is 8500 and 1000ish for power. It is 3 season old and I've not found any issues with it yet for strength and integrity.

An Oliver 1800A rear end would be about 75lbs or so lighter than a 1850. A 1800B or C rear end would be virtually the same thing as a 1850.

Michindoh Pulling Association runs a Pro Farm and Hot Farm class. They pull eastern Indiana and western Ohio. Pro Farm is 8500lbs, 510 cubic inch, 3x3.5 charger, 18.4 tire, open rpm with all safety equipment. Hot Farm is 9500lbs, 540 cubic inch, 3x3.5 charger, 20.8 tire, open rpm, and all safety equipment. Tractors from that group cross back and forth between Darke County and Central Ohio groups.

I didn't mean I had to maintain my tractor less often, I meant I can't do it any faster. It has the same inspection hole any other flywheel housing has. If I have to change a floater plate, I have to pull the entire motor, including draining the entire cooling system, disconnecting the fuel supply, which in turns means priming the system again. Literally everything has to be disconnect

Getting a 8.3 in that tub probably isn't going to happen. 5.9 will fit with a little grinding. My suggestion for a rear end would be a 1800a or a 1850 depending on what weight class you plan to run.

Class rules are the most important fact in motor selection, you will most likely have a difficult time finding a hot farm class that will allow the 3208 as an option with it being 636ci.
