A jd will fit 12.5 four disc. Go that route and will be set for future hp upgrades. 1.75 27 spline input shaft is common.

Someone said it best on here rules in other types of motorsports are to keep competitors from out spending. There will always be endless checkbooks but rules should be made with class longevity in mind not more hp numbers.

You don't want to short your injection pump, the pump only uses all that fuel at max fuel. Usually last few feet of the pull so don't want to be lacking any fuel supply.
I use offices in return not check valves on pump to keep fuel circulating, yes it builds heat. With only short run time not big concern but if fuel is getting hot a fuel cooler not bad idea

My bad.... lol......1.57gpm
1.5 gal in 202 ounces.
As rpm goes up so does demand so if you run 4000 rpm engine you need at least 3gpm supply pump

Let's use 1000cc as example.
That means 1000cc per plunger per 1000 strokes.
Pump rotates half engine speed so a engine at 2000 rpm pump turns 1000rpm
Convert cc to ounces 1000cc = 33.8 ounces multiply by 6 plungers = 202 ounces. That's 1.57gal per minute your supply pump needs for 1000cc injection pump at 2000 engine rpm.
That's how I base my pump capacity.

I use and sell both Aviaid gear pumps and vane pumps. Have converted some from vane to gear because could not supply enough for the demands of the injection pump. That plays big role in what you use. Make sure it can handle the needs of your injection pump.

I agree, 15 some odd years ago I got into pulling. Ran a 600 ci super farm with a gt42 turbo. It was fun, affordable. Fast forward I can no longer play in that field. Bigger pumps, higher dollar turbo, all added up. Didn't help the class any.
A ps today wouldn't make 3500 if it didn't use billet pump, billet head, etc.
It's happening to all classes the high dollar

After I thought about it awhile could build a weld on hub with the tether ring as part of it, wouldn't be to hard.
Jake your right most guys running brake hats already have built in tether sort of. I busted a hub on my JD and wheel never came off and was because of the brake hat.

I think it shows how overpriced pulling stuff is getting.
Things needs to cheaper for once, in 10 years what's a new set of tires going to cost 20k no wonder the numbers are dwindeling.

So wouldn't that only work on a component style rear end?
A cast tractor has a welded on hub. If the axle breaks flush on the hub how do you attach the tether?

Never heard of wheel tethers until I read this thread. I looked it up and from what I understand it attaches to the spindle. Not sure or even how it would attach to an axle, the ones I've seen break, break clean off.
And why any event or insurance would allow ppl or crew to be located at the end of the track is just asking for a lawsuit or worse.
Things are going to break and things

Yes will bolt in and swing fine.
Rod journals are bigger. Can be offset ground to 5.625 stroke with ih or Deere 2.998 journal or go to cummins journal for more stroke or have welded depending on your needs. Ran stroked 9.0L in my limpro.
I have 9.0L stock crank if your interested

Cheaper route would be to find 8.1 block to use your 8.1 crank.

What are you using for injector body?
They are hitting the head because of the angle of the injector in relation to what the nozzle is for.

The 158 refers to spray angle and you have a 7mm tip. It's a denso nozzle.
Do you have to stay 7mm or can you go 9mm tip? What are you running these in?
There are many options.

Use a FASS or AirDog setup. Or use electric pump Bosch 44 or similar pump. Double them up for more if needed. Personally not a fan of electric pusher pumps but they can work.

Cheap way is to use tire pressure gauge connected to hose. Or they make maximum indicating gauges can get them from McMaster Carr or other places.
