I think there are several tractors that would run both the Lt. Class and the GN Mod hooks if the rules were more friendly to do that. We would with two tractors. Likley others would be Wayson,Gibson and possibly Writsels.
I think if the GN Lt Unlimited were to go away about half would go GN Heavy Unlimited and half would go GN Mod. Could be that some would do what we did and go RN Mod. I thi

I went to a pull at the Cicinnati Gardens in about 74 or 75. Some of if not all of the minis had very tall very skinny tires like you might find on an Allis Chalmers G. Never seen it before that or after that. Anyone else seen anything like these tractors?

There have been pulling garden tractors on display at the National Farm Machinery Show that were put together by engineering students. Not sure but I thought it was NKU.

We have been to Rockwell a couple of times and have always had a good time. They do a great job and it is a great facility. The years we were there the track wasn't the best but the rest of the facility and the group that puts the pull on are top notch.

Chris Cuomo (SP) drove the Ground Force tractor at a pull in Hicksville,Oh about 8 or 10 years ago. I think the Ground Force was a Super Farm at that time. He was either going to drive Ground Force or our Hoosier Avalanche 2WD truck.

I missed the full membership meeting on Saturday but in the director's meeting on Friday night we voted for the 4wd 3.0 Diesel truck class to be added as a points class for next summer. It had been a probationary class this past summer. I think that is the only big change for next year.

Don Deane has hooked for many years and a lot of hooks per year. In RN 2 alone there are typically 20 plus hooks then you add on his hooks in RN 4 not to mention OSTPA. We used to run almost as much as Don and we had a few years that we hooked 70 plus times at 55 plus events.

I think that applies to all classes that use automotive engines unless the specific class rules say differently. The unlimited class rules override this rule would be my thoghts.

I find myself passing by threads that don't interest me or that go into too much detail (or bickering). Especially when I don't have time to do a lot of reading, I just skip them.

Radar,
You may not be able to see that 1 or 2 seconds but you can read it on a time slip or more importantly the fans can read it on the scoreboard. No one knows how much more the tractors are pulling, most of the pullers don't even know.

Groundpounder,
I honestly think that the powers that be in both the organizations and insurance are not thrilled with turbines from a safty stantpoint but I will point out that at the RN level both turbines and Allisons were given more leeway with the rules. I think if you see the Top Gun tractor run some RN stuff next summer he will be there amungst the top tractors. Don Deane will also lik

Paull,
You do realize that the reason that the tractors are now so called cookie cutter is precisely because of people like the Ralph Banter and Tim Engler. These inovators came up with designs that set the standard for winning. This coupled with the fact that they not only built their own stuff that they then went out and won with but would also build one for anyone that wanted one. If you w

Boring,
Why would it be such a bad thing to build one track that would work better for the tractors to put on a better show and another track so the trucks can put on a better show. Granted a 2WD competitor should be able to set up their truck to work on any track but at the same time a 2WD will not put on a good show on a soft mushy track regardless of how good they are set up. A tractor on

I have seen this on Facebook as well as here and I'm confused, maybe someone can clarify for me.
It seems that the idea here is to get ride of MOST of the fumes put out by the LSS tractors without them having to do a full on smoke tube. From what I've been reading the biggest issue is during the spooling up of the tractors and that is obvious at any event these tractors compete at

Two different classes,
We are hearing that an MBR engine with a screw blower is making close to 4000 HP, take that X 4 = 16,000 HP. Due to weight you would be limited to two engines making approximately 4,000 each for a total of 8,000 HP with diesels. That's 1/2 the HP of a V-8 powered tractor, even with the diesel engines making more torque per engine how could they posiblity keep up?

I would tend to think that the points titles aren't as well followed as they used to be. Hard to say why but that seems to be the reality at least for the fans side of the equation.
I feel like in the pullers side it's still a very real thing and most pullers appreciate the effort and money it takes to win a GN points tiles.
As for it being a "National" title I guess I would say

Would a tractor at that weight need a smaller sled in order to put on a good show? If so that could be an issue for venues having to rent two sleds. I know back in the day we even had issues at times at 5200 lbs, not often but it did happen.

I'm one of those people that will lay in bed at night thinking about these things and I have another couple of questions. One of the reasons the Heavy Unlimited tractors are so hard to get down the track is that they one wheel so easily. There is so much power that it doesn't take much to make this happen. My question is; if these tractors one wheel how fast is that tire turning (a

During the Mod committee meeting the discussion started with what was safe and we voted to let the board determine along with SFI, insurance and the manufacturer safe limits. They talked about that limit being 150% overdrive. My question to everyone one was; how much is enough, why do we need more than NHRA needs? Everyone in the room seemed to indicate that they are under the 125% but didn
