Patches,
I heard a lot about them putting the IH head on because it flowed better but never heard anyone say that it was an overhead cam. But then I was just a kid spectator in those days.
S'no Fmer
Dave schriers Green power special 4320 also used a ih head during that time

In my opinion the llss should be the lt pro.truely a light single charger class with variety..all those listed classes are 466+ classes,8500 lbs or heavier that isn't light..lol

Just talking about the tractor here.to campaign a gn pro for 2 seasons on a precommit schedule, wouldn't ya need 400k in extra parts?.
You would have to plan on having 2 extra pumps,2 extra turbos,2 sets of injectors, extra mounted rear tires, extra clutch, then continually updating to latest and greatest, extra long block, extra set of sensors for datalogger, looks like a pro would be a million d

Most all of pulling wounds are self influcted, pulling had national support 40 years ago, pulling had major sponsors ,for that time,40 years ago.the ag community was much larger at that time and the community was much younger.pulling had a mechanical bond to what the people actually used daily.face it,pulling just isn't going to make a big comeback,it's not going to grow,we've left t

I'll never knock ross,I give them tons of respect for jumping in the uss class, arguable the best dss in the world..but they have dominated the dss for a good while, when they jump into the uss and win, guys start on combining the class again,so where does that leave all the other dss at..leave it alone

I'd leave the ss classes alone,if the diesels wanted to pull against the alkys they can at any time pretty clear they don't want too.the idea of putting it back together is based solely on ross being somewhat competitive one season.

Just curious, which head would flow better a wauk 310 diesel with spark plugs or a 5.9 cummins with the manifold cut off with spark plugs.both could be ported..seems like the llss heads are impressive, also the central ohio 310s are very impressive

The pit scene gas a lot of improvement to be had.in the 80s most all ss/ps were hauled on an open trailer, fans could walk around and look at the details, now they sit in enclosed trailers.in the heyday tractors had the sides off,the engine could be seen, those always had a crowd around them watching, now ya very rarely see that.those 2 would be huge Improvements.
