Hootman: Did lightning strike twice? - 1 year ago
I noticed Commander was the test hook in LSS last night but listed as broke in results. Out of curiosity, did he not hook at all, hook and drop but discovtered breakage, or did they reset the sled and he couldn't run?by The Original Michael - Forum
Stan Shelton narrowly avoided disaster - 1 year ago
Live from Q1 of Pro Mods at US Nationals in Indy. Shelton and Jason Scruggs both had good passed that will keep them in the field. However, just past the finish line, the Scruggs car crossed over into Shelton's lane, directly behind Shelton. There will surely be a video on YouTube sometime. Thankfully they didn't touch at 240 mph, but that looked close from the stands.by The Original Michael - Forum

Quote$ The biggest check book, is King. Boat rockers, don't get hired back. And pullers who break parts due to BS sled settings when the people running the pull should know better may tend to reassess the sanctioning body they pull for. Re: Wellington OH NTPA LSS class - 1 year ago
Promoter (to sled operator) "I want you to let the first puller in a class of 6 go 400 feet. Then, we'll reset the sled." Sled Operator: "Sounds good. Will do." If promoters try to dictate the actual on-track performance in any sanctioned class, that shows a lack of integrity for the promoter, and if the sanctioning body acquieses, that is a lack of integrity there as well. Common sense and track/sled people - 1 year ago
This incident reminds me of something similar from years ago. Does anyone remember when NTPA sanctioned Essex Junction, VT on Labor Day? I remember years ago on Fonda's board, she talked about how they were at the pull with their two wheeler and the SS class was also on the day's schedule (not sure if this was before or after the diesel/alky split). Anyway, she said Richard Lustik waby The Original Michael - Forum

QuoteDick Morgan I see the NTPA rule proposals are post on their website under the tech page. One that caught my eye was the Lt Unlimited Class Mod going back to the Light Mod class with 2 engines with 14/71 blowers. (Sarcasm) Just an odd thought- what if some puller somewhere tried putting a jet turbine engine in a tractor? Quoteplb Who would not like the big Unlimited mods 3 nights in a row!!!!! Mods during the day, unl at night!!!! I would love that, but here is the problem: The unlimiteds handled one hook nicely. Everyone except Rose made the 2nd hook, and that tractor also ran the 2 GN mod classes. QuoteMath Are there 20 region mods RUNNING in the USA ?? Remember, Outlaws have Wisner, so don't count any of those. Also, if they complain about going 100 miles to a region event, what is the chance they would go 500 or 1000 miles to BG? I see 10 at most. And I'm a mod fan!! Are there 20 RN mods in the USA? Re: BG Roundup - 1 year ago
The good: With all the rain, only missing the final 2 twd hooks Saturday afternoon was good considering what could have happened. Announcing was the best I've heard. The 5 gentlemen worked well together. Great equipment, sorry supply chain/ parts kept some pullers away this year. Shows moved along quickly. Mostly good sled settings for the 350' track. So many good runs... Ederby The Original Michael - Forum

Bowling Green could have low #s - 1 year ago
Numbers are down in many classes, and it wouldn't be surprising if BG has less vehicles in than normal. PPL numbers have been a little lower, but their PS, USS and LSS numbers have been roughly half of what I would have expected for much of the past month. While NTPA GN Napoleon got rained out, the DSS class had 5 entries, including 2 region tractors and 3 GN vehicles, one of which is acby The Original Michael - Forum

QuoteBrandonA Just curious at BG what type of safety issue does the drag racing cause? Are you worried about officials with their back turned to the action on the other track? The chance of parts flying off one track and hitting a vehicle or person on the other side? Speaking of Bowling Green - 1 year ago
NTPA officials, I know some of you look at this board. In the interest of safety.... How about no drag racing at Bowling Green this year? Only one track runs at a time. Hold the vehicle on the other track until the run is finished, then give the green. Won't delay the show, you're just offsetting the run by 20-30 seconds. Added benefit less idle time for the fans.by The Original Michael - Forum
Re: NTPA guideline question, to; jmiller - 1 year ago
QuoteHP ACTUALLY, either Salem, or Mt. Sterling had dumped NTPA and signed with PPL before NTPA had made the decision to ask them to "work with them" on the date. Also, Rockwell changed to the August date when the communist state of Illinois had the state shut down because of the China Plandemic. So, one could look at it as rewarding an event for happening when no other events could, or would.by The Original Michael - Forum

QuoteBen there They dumped Langford and then sold them a crappy regional show with 3 classes and 14 hooks. Thank you. This is what I was thinking of with the original question. The only Canadian puller I can recall running in the US this year is David Lacey with the two minis. In 2019 at Bowling Green, in TWD Tom Larue, Doug Stutt, Amber Taylor, Jon Van Horne, and Elliott Feringo ran. In FWD, Liam Fulmore ran (Donald Labonte has passed, but I believe someone is running his truck in Quebec). In SF, Orville Couture, Jason Podolinski, and Bill Wright ran.
