Has this ever happened? - 1 year ago
This would go back to the early days if it ever happened, almost certainly before the mid 1970s, but did a tractor ever run as a modified or SS for a while, and at some point got converted to the other? Also, weren't some early twds basically repurposed single engine mod chassis?by The Original Michael - Forum

NTPA Mitas Pro Stock Tire clarification/ Spec turbo - 1 year ago
The Mitas issue was discussed previously, but I don't recall the latest update on the NTPA website posted here. I have a philosophical objection to grandfather clauses. This seems like a grandfather clause for pullers who happen to own any of 60 sets of tires. Also, I must have missed where their 5.0 RN PS class was going to have a spec turbo. Compare/contrast tires issues in pulling and dirt late model racing - 1 year ago
Quote$$$ Well the high paying dirt races charge a $100 to $200 entry fee plus $45 to $50 pit pass on top of that including the driver. Nothing is free in dirt racing And, like pulling, there are some major storms brewing regarding tires, though unlike pulling, the major sanctioning bodies appear to be trying to work together this year. Question for anyone- Currently, which areas do you feel like are the least transparent in the sport of pulling? (could be rule interpretations, purses, insurance, issues with sanction fees, anything). What solutions would help make these aspects clearer? QuoteTeam one The simple answer is, it’s easy to police there is no need to measure a tire that is potentially too wide if you eliminate that potential. That may or may not be correct, but it's also BS. According to tractordata.com, an IH 1486 weights "12500 to 13670 pounds" from the factory. There are no NTPA tractor classes that weight that much. How is buying a tire that may be a little big, but cutting down to a legal size fundamentally any different than a tractor pulling up to the scale, being too heavy, then removing a couple weights to make the class weight? In both cases, something was out of scope (tire size or tractor weight), and in both cases, if the excess (tread or ballast) is removed and the vehicle meets the requiremenby The Original Michael - Forum

There are several that get discussed all the time, but the Lucas Oil announcement reminds me that almost any touring motorsports series has a 2023 schedule posted, some for months.
