Bowling Green - why??? - 1 year ago
2023 BG Schedule Just checked the BG website to see if the 2023 schedule was posted. It is, at the link above. It's their event and they can do what they want, but I have to ask- why reschedule a dead class that only had 5 entries and only ran at this one event? We've had discussions on here about which classes the could or should bring in, but that doesn't seem to be a wiseby The Original Michael - Forum
What are the most unenforced or underenforced rules in pulling? - 1 year ago

Reading comprehension 101 - 1 year ago
For a couple responders on this thread- Get a dictionary or google what "in jest" means (some of you probably would confuse it with "ingest"....) It's a good thing Dave Chapelle and Jerry Seinfeld don't do pulling humor. Will any classes get hit hard in 2023? - 1 year ago
Asking because under Biden, I don't see the economy bouncing back, and a number of pullers are getting older. For example, will the expense of running a mod catch up with NTPA and PPL for their unlimited/super mod tractor classes? PPL had lower numbers in their USS class and NTPA struggled with DSS numbers for at least part of the season. Will the SS classes in both organizations strugby The Original Michael - Forum
It happens in other motorsports also (Stan Shelton, John Strickland) - 1 year ago
Go to nhraracer.com (an official NHRA website). Look at all the parity adjustments NHRA does thoughout a season in different classes. I can't tell you how many times the Pro Mod class has had changes this year alone to try to achieve parity between turbo cars, nitrous cars, pro charger cars, blown cars (screw) and blown cars (roots). ? for Parents about schools in your area - 1 year ago
In my area, there is an epidemic of wokeness in the schools. Hopefully, that ship can get righted after school board elections in a few weeks. My question for the board is: If your child's school has implemented what you consider to be inappropriate or woke ideologies, could you share examples? For example, in my area, a parent shared with my wife that her kid's kindergarten teacby The Original Michael - Off-Topic Forum

About that covid vaccine.... - 1 year ago
Remember a year ago when Biden and different employers were trying to force the Covid vaccine on people that didn't want it? Remember one specific group that was hesitant were women of childbearing age because of unknowns about how it would affect their babies? Of course, people were also told the mRNA would degrade quickly and multiple studies have found out that's not true. Interesby The Original Michael - Off-Topic Forum
Missing the Forest for the Trees - 1 year ago
Whatever form a tether would take is up to the sanctioning bodies. In many ways, this thread is missing the forest (need for a tether rule) for the trees (where it's attached, etc.). Let's focus back on why this is an important issue to resolve. Situation- Tire breaks from vehicle, hits fans sitting in lawn chair at Bowling Green, killing 2 and seriously injuring 5 others. Cost? - 1 year ago
It's true that most rule changes get implemented courtesy of the pullers wallet. If tethers become a universal safety rule x 4 tires, this is no exception. Recognizing there is no spec yet, what ballpark range might it cost to have adequate tethers for 2 rear tires and 2 front tires ( really ballparking it). Obviously, 4 tethers for a 4WD would be a different animal than for a big hp ss,by The Original Michael - Forum
Fatality waiting to happen - 1 year ago
Accident The video from a non-sanctipned pull last week illustrates why wheel tethers are needed in NTPA, PPL, Outlaws and any other sanctioning body with high wheel speed vehicles. (Of note, the vehicle is a highly regarded tractor in NTPA R2 even though this pull was unsanctioned). In this case, there were no spectators on the other side of the barricade. Dave Stangle Solid Junk - 1 year ago
If you were around then, what are your memories of Solid Junk? I know I saw him run several times as a kid and think he won, but more than any other memory was a time (maybe Indiana State Fair) when he blew it up. Following the NTPA thought process - 1 year ago
If a 5 inch turbo PS class is needed to save the class at the RN/state level, why not also impose limits on the SS class for the same reason? Isn't a GN DSS legal at the RN level? After all, the HSS class in R2 and 3 had few hooks. Just trying to be consistent here. The question is, what limits (example, max of 2 or 3 turbos, etc?)by The Original Michael - Forum

QuoteBrent Yaron I know, but this rule change was never on the proposed rules list to be discussed at the Enderle. I don't remember the year; I think it was maybe after 2016 or whatever year Shramek split the block at Bowling Green. QuoteBrent Yaron From what I see it looks like it was proposed for Super Farms in the Super Farm section and for all Ag re-ends in the General section. I haven't been down there in quite a few years, so the memory is fuzzy. If they wanted to add a second track, is there room to move one or both sets of stands to accommodate the width? QuoteBrandonA Is there any good reason for not making Limited Pro a National level class at this point? With all due respect, imo a better case could be made for NTPA making Light Pros a GN class than Limited Pro. 1) The 540 ci limit is a departure from the 640-680 limits for PS, Limited Pro, and Super Farm.
