A famous puller told me that my LLSS makes more power than his SS did in the early 80'ies when he was Grand National Champion. Stuff has sure chanced.

I have heard of guys running JD rods in 400 series engines. The one I know of makes over 1400 hp.

I would have questions for the video people. What pressure are you using to inject the methyl and water, have you dialed the amount injected, at what pressure to start to inject? IMO that high pressure (1500 psi) plus with smallest nozzles opening you can run and control your EGTs will help with atomization. I would recommend talking to a diesel engine builder that builds pulling motor for star

I just hope my health is good enough to being pulling in 2030. I be 76 going on 77. Some of the local pulls pack the stands, they do great job advertising and encourage fans to walk around pit area. Their prices for food and beer are reasonable and they start early evening to allow families with young kids see the pull. I believe that these pulls will survive.

I agree with starting pull on time. I have seen many pulls that start 1/2 hour or more late and the have it rain just before the premier classes start. Also mix fast or hot classes in with mph classes. This would help keep the fans excited. Just my opinion.

I run also run Mobil delvac 15 40 in my LLSS. The engine is 6 years old, and the bearings look like new. It runs 60 psi with warm oil and 100 psi during pull. I am running wet sump with extraoral oil pump. Just my experience. Good luck.

MO if you have mix of speed limit classes and go-fast classes mix them up order. Example maybe 1 or 2 speed limit classes and the fast one. This would help get the crowd excited. I have numerous people tell me that they had to get their children home before any of the go-fast classes run. In full discloser I run one of those hated LLSS. Hope everyone has Happy Thanksgiving.

Anytime your twist the tail hard parts break. I broke a plunger and stuck my pump this summer. I was luck it happened at idle so no other damage. The old saying if you're not breaking parts you're not winning. Good luck to Jason and crew.

I agree, when I started visiting this site it was to find out about upcoming pulls and to learn technical information from questions asked. Now it seems main topic is to wine about being beat. I never complain about being beat. I congratulate the winner. I am pulling to have fun and entertain the fans.

No I would not hang 60 weights. If I was building for that heavy of class, I would run large frame tractor. If I was using a 686 chassis, I would plan on never running heavier that 7000 lbs. As far as HP it is addictive. Build it once and build it right you will be money and time ahead IMO.

At the weight\s you're planning on running IMO would be tough on stock parts. Atlas Tractor can fix you up. I am running 656 rearend housing and transmission case in LLSS at a lot higher HP than you're planning on. I have all aftermarket parts in rearend and an Atlas Max transmission. If you're going to use small rearend spend the money right away and save having to redo it.

I always keep my hand on bottom of steering wheel and elbow on my leg to limit how far I can turn wheel. It helps. I glad the driver is ok.

My vote is for Ridgeland Wi. Track will take all the power you have. Only place I have had to lower drawbar to keep front manageable. Great pit area, Lots of tractors to pull you around. IMO just great run pull..

Cliff your correct a lot of variables. The key IMO is enough water to keep turbo alive.

I agree with plum krazy water is not linear with time. I use belt driven pump, so RPMs has more to do with amount of water used. The higher RPMs you average the more water. So, I can change water by shifting down a gear. To throw another rat on the table pressure that you run will also affect how much water you can run. If you run lower pressure system, you cannot run as much as you can with

90 oz is for average 13 second run. Each tractor is different. I tune based on EGT's and boost. Timing also makes big differences. I am running a lot more timing than stated. Also running 3X4 turbo so it's apples vs oranges. I would turn fuel and water up until smoke gets lazy then back down water until EGT's become issues. I have never burn turbo up by having too much water

What size turbo? If bigger than 3x3 you might need more fuel and water. I am running 1050 and 90 oz. It all depends on cam, turbo and head work.

IMO if the puller has competitive vehicle the pull is won before they drive on track. What I mean is the one that reads the track best and sets up their vehicle best should win. Just my $0.02 worth.
